NFL: Fantasy Football Rookie Tight Ends For 2021 Regular Season

The NFL training camp will be here in around two months from now. The NFL had its draft last month and teams are getting prepared for the 2021 regular season. Tight ends are the most interesting position in the NFL.

They are supposed to catch passes like a wide receiver and they are supposed to block like an offensive lineman. Other than Kyle Pitts from the University of Florida, not many tight ends could potentially make names for themselves as a rookie this upcoming season.

Fantasy football drafts will also be starting sooner rather than later. There are always some sleepers, and some will want to see which rookies could possible emerge and also see which ones could potentially be busts.

Which three rookie tight ends could be drafted in fantasy football leagues this season in the NFL?

1. Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts could potentially be the number one or number two receiving option for quarterback Matt Ryan, especially if they decide to trade wide receiver Julio Jones.

Pitts was the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Kyle Pitts is the best tight end prospect ever.

He is the heartbeat of the Atlanta Falcons tight end room. Pitts has the potential to break receiving records for a tight end during his rookie season.

He could potentially be drafted in the first three rounds of NFL Fantasy Drafts this season. In eight games last season with the University of Florida, he caught 43 passes for 770 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. Kyle Pitts is going to be a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators.

2. Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pat Freiermuth from Penn State was the 55th overall pick (second-round selection) in the 2021 NFL Draft. Freiermuth will become the number one tight end right away in the Steel City. The Pittsburgh Steelers need a number one tight end in the worst way.

Pittsburgh needs a tight end to soften the defense and for also quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to rely on. The Steelers are in win-now mode. They have veery good wide receivers and now rookie Najee Harris from the University of Alabama at running back, but tight end is important.

The Pittsburgh Steelers do have Eric Ebron, but his hands are made of bricks. Pat Freiermuth will become the number one tight end for Pittsburgh sooner rather than later and it won’t be a bad thing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

3. Hunter Long, Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are starting to build a super team in South Beach. Miami already has Mike Geiscki at tight end. However, Hunter Long would be the second tight end from Boston College on the Dolphins roster.

Long was a third-round pick (81st overall selection) in the 2021 NFL Draft. Hunter Long may not be a hot player on the draft board at the tight end position, but he could be a hot waiver wire pickup at some point during the regular season in the NFL.

Head coach Brian Flores got another tight end like Mike Long in the 2021 NFL Draft to make life easier for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Miami also drafted wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from the University of Alabama with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Miami Dolphins are going to be a lethal offense and football team sooner rather than later, despite trying to chase the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. Hunter Long has the talent to become a really good tight end in the NFL.

It will be interesting to see what he does for Miami this season. The Dolphins will be relying on him to be apart of their offensive system.

Other potential rookie tight ends for fantasy football: Tommy Tremble (CAR, Notre Dame), Tre’ McKitty (LAC, Georgia), John Bates (WFT, Boise State), and Kylen Granson (IND, Southern Methodist).
