Atlanta Falcons: Where Could Julio Jones Get Traded To?

Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons might be moving on from each other sooner rather than later. Jones is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Julio Jones is 32-years-old. A lot of teams could use his services right now.

Jones still has two years for sure on his contract. He will have a cap hit of $23 million this season and $19 million next season. Julio Jones could opt-out after the 2022 season, according to spotrac.com. If he does opt-in to the 2023 regular season, he would also have a cap hit of $19 million.

Julio Jones will be an unrestricted free agent before the 2024 regular season. It will be interesting to see where he will wind up for the 2021 regular season if he does not play for the Atlanta Falcons ever again.

In nine games last season, he caught 51 passes for 771 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Julio Jones in 135 career games, has caught 848 passes for 12,896 yards receiving and 60 touchdowns. In eight career playoff games, he has caught 61 passes for 834 yards receiving and six touchdowns. Which teams will trade for Julio Jones potentially?

Tennessee Titans

Other than A.J. Brown, they are not particularly deep at the wide receiver position. They lost Corey Davis, Kalif Raymond, and Adam Humphries in the offseason. The offense does run through Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry.

The offensive line is very physical and finesse. Julio Jones and A.J. Brown on the outside would be very tough to deal with.

Green Bay Packers

The Aaron Rodgers relationship with the front office is very interesting. They have been into back-to-back NFC Championships and lost. Green Bay has no won the Super Bowl since 2010 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Julio Jones and Davante Adams on the other side of each other would be fun to watch. The offense would become nearly impossible to stop week in and week out.

New England Patriots

They also signed Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor in the offseason.

Julio Jones would be the heartbeat of the New England Patriots wide receiver room. He would be catching passes from either Cam Newton or Mac Jones.

Jones would be the number one wide receiver in that offense. Things would then be very interesting for this team in the AFC East led by Bill Belichick the head coach and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Other teams that could potentially use his services: Baltimore Ravens, The Washington Football Team, New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Miami Dolphins.

I am surprised that I didn’t see any odds for this on FanDuel Sportsbook yet. If Julio Jones were to leave the Atlanta Falcons via trade, the top three destinations in my opinion would be: 1. Green Bay Packers, 2. Tennessee Titans, and 3. New England Patriots.

Where do you think Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will play next season if he is traded to another NFL team? Leave a comment below.
