Miami Heat: Are They Going Back to the NBA Finals?
The Miami Heat were off to a slow start during the 2020-2021 NBA regular season. Miami lost in the NBA Finals, in the Orlando Bubble to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games last season. The Heat are proving themselves once again, in a 106-94 win at home on Thursday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Miami is getting hot at the right time. If the season ended today, the Miami Heat would be the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. They would face the Atlanta Hawks in the first-round of the NBA Playoffs.
The Heat are ready to beat anyone in their path. I am not saying that they are going to go back to the NBA Finals this season. Miami will have a punchers chance because of the team chemistry they possess.
However, if Jimmy Butler is missing any type of time due to injury or illness, the Miami Heat will be in big time trouble. He is the leader inside the locker room.
Butler is the heartbeat of the Miami Heat. He always shows up and plays hard on a night-to-night basis.
Jimmy Butler led the way once again for the Miami Heat with 21 points. He shot 60 percent from the field. Butler also grabbed five rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded one steal.
Bam Adebayo scored 18 points for Miami. He shot 12 rebounds, recorded eight assists, and blocked one shot. Adebayo is a double-double machine every single night for the Miami Heat. He is also Miami’s second best player.
Tyler Herro is the Heat’s best player off the bench. He excels in his role. Herro scored 18 points off the bench for Miami. He shot 46.2 percent from the field. Tyler Herro also grabbed six rebounds and recorded two assists.
Udonis Haslem never plays. He is always an extra head coach on the bench to Erik Spoelstra. Haslem appeared in the game for a few minutes on Thursday night. He scored four points and hit on both of his shots. Udonis Haslem also grabbed one rebound and got ejected in the second-quarter.
This team wanted it more last night on both ends of the floor than the Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia could potentially be the number one seed in the Eastern Conference in the NBA. If this is a potential second-round match up, the Miami Heat could pose a big threat to the Philadelphia 76ers.
They are also tenacious enough to beat the Milwaukee Bucks or the Brooklyn Nets. This year it will be much tougher to get to the NBA Finals for the Miami Heat, because they will have to travel and face difficult road arenas and crowds.
Miami has a very good roster. Losing Victor Oladipo for the season hurt them. He hopes to be a part of the Miami Heat in the long term. The future does look bright for the Miami Heat anyways here as well. Miami is the wild card team in the Eastern Conference.
If the Miami Heat does reach the ultimate destination of the NBA Finals this season, it would be tough for them to win because the Western Conference is a different animal.
