NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Winner via FanDuel Sportsbook
The NFL Draft is now behind us. People will already be placing bets on tons of rookies for next NFL season and they are already doing so. Some people will be waiting until the NFL season to make bets, but some people can’t wait.
Their were a lot of offensive players taken in the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The NFL is an offensive league these days and it doesn’t cater much to the defensive side of the football anymore really.
A lot of offensive talent will be on display during the first week of the NFL season and potentially beyond. It is going to be exicitng to see who does this season in the NFL.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Hebert won of the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award last season. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was the runner up. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow could have won it if he didn’t tear his ACL. Who could win it this season via the odds of FanDuel Sportsbook?
Trevor Lawrence +270
Trevor Lawrence was the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck of Stanford back in 2012. Lawrence has the potential to be a culture changer for this franchise.
Jacksonville just went 1-15 last season. Urban Meyer is the new head coach for the Jaguars. He was in the FOX Sports booth for the past couple of seasons. Meyer used to coach at the Ohio State University.
Trevor Lawrence will be the heartbeat of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has the potential to break some rookie records at the quarterback position next season.
Lawrence acts professionally all the time. He will have a chance to put up great numbers with them next season.
Justin Fields +500
This one is very interesting. Justin Fields being the second favorite means that they expect him to start for the Chicago Bears in Week one over Andy Dalton. Dalton was supposed to a stop gap on a one-year deal, but general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy need to win games now in the NFL.
If they don’t win, they’ll be fired. They somehow made it to the NFL Playoffs in two-of-the-three seasons with Mitchell Trubisky at the quarterback position. Justin Fields has higher upside. Chicago traded up from the 20th to the 11th pick with the New York Giants to draft him out of Ohio State.
Fields is going to be a leader from day one. He is going to get it done with his feet and his arm. His talent will be very good from the start. Justin Fields also has Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney to throw the football too.
Zach Wilson +700
Wilson was the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Zach Wilson is the face of the franchise because they traded away quarterback Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers. Zach Wilson has great mobility and smarts.
The issue with him might be facing the best defensive minded coaches within the AFC East. In the NFL, Zach Wilson can’t be reckless with the football. Wilson needs to have a very good running game and help on the offensive line.
His wide receivers need to make it easy on him. Head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur will have game plans for him week in and week out. Zach Wilson could be the most polarizing quarterback in the rookie class heading into Week 1.
Wilson would be an interesting bet, but I am not sure if I am in favor of him.
I think I would bet Trevor Lawrence first, and then take a chance on some of the other players before I would bet on Justin Fields or Zach Wilson to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in the NFL.
