NFL: Where is Ben Roethlisberger going to go in 2021?

It always comes a time when certain players are showing age. One of them is the quarterback for the Pittsburg Steelers in Ben Roethlisberger. This past year his skills are dismissing and the Steelers have adjusted the offense around this. Many Steelers fans are wondering what they are going to do with Roethlisberger. Many teams could use a quarterback. One of them is not the Indianapolis Colts who made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. The trade involved Carson Wentz to the Colts and the Eagles got a third-round pick in the 2021 draft and a conditional second-round pick that could become a first-round pick in 2022. I do not believe that the quarterback carousel is not over. Let’s see where Roethlisberger will end up or if he stays with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburg Steelers

Many are asking why this would be a landing spot for Roethlisberger. He has been with Pittsburgh since he was drafted. The fans know that he does not have many years left. Roethlisberger is due to make $41 million this year. There is no way he is worth that kind of money. If he were able to reconstruct his contract that would help Pittsburgh. The fans do not want to see him go but that might happen soon if he has the same type of season, he did last year. Let’s see if he will stay as a Steeler or head elsewhere.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are in question about their quarterback. Dak Prescott who is due a contract got hurt and that leaves receiving what money he has earned in jeopardy. Jerry Jones the owner of the Dallas Cowboys has said he is ready to pay Prescott. I am not saying the Roethlisberger is better than Prescott. Prescott is much younger and has many more years left than Big Ben does. Jones has made some flamboyant moves since becoming owner and it would not be a surprise if he moves on from Prescott. With the offensive line, the Cowboys have it may help Big Ben.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are in a similar situation that the Dallas Cowboys are in when it comes to quarterback. Jimmy Garoppolo was once backup to Tom Brady when they played for the New England Patriots. Garoppolo also has injury issues like Prescott. Roethlisberger is a veteran quarterback that could help the young 49ers. San Francisco has a good running game which the Pittsburg Steelers have not had since they lost LeVeon Bell. This would be good for Big Ben. The 49ers also have some good wide receivers. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will have some work to do if the 49ers decide to bring Big Ben in.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have big issues at the quarterback position. They brought in Nick Foles who was a Super Bowl hero for the Philadelphia Eagles. He got hurt and they turned back to their early-round draft pick in Mitchell Trubisky. Trubisky was supposed to be the answer at quarterback that has yet to pan out. Like the 49ers they have a good running game and any team that has that on this list outside of the Pittsburg Steelers. If Foles could have stayed healthy or Trubisky had panned out then Roethlisberger would not be targeted to possibly be a Chicago Bear.

Philadelphia Eagles

How bizarre would it be if Roethlisberger went to the cross-state Philadelphia Eagles? The Eagles have just made a huge trade with the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts got Carson Wentz the Eagles got a third-round pick in this year’s draft and a conditional second-round pick in the 2022 draft that could become a first-round pick if Wentz fulfills certain playing time requirements. Jalen Hurts was picked by Philadelphia in last year’s draft. It is now his team but a veteran quarterback like Roethlisberger may help Hurt’s development. Steelers fans already do not like Eagles fans, and this would but another hatred in the rivalry of Pennsylvania.

hIn the end, we will see if Ben Roethlisberger leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers. These four teams outside of Pittsburg may take a chance with Big Ben. The biggest reason I see is that all the teams outside of the Steelers have a good running game. That would take the attention off Roethlisberger. He struggled with throwing the deep ball last season. He dinked and dunked passes last year and yes, the Steelers were off to an 11-0 start before the tires fell off and they lost on the playoffs to the hated Cleveland Browns. The decision awaits to see what happens with Ben Roethlisberger.
