Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Three Game Studs vs. Green Bay Packers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made history after winning the NFC Championship. They will be the first team in NFL history to host a Super Bowl. The game was a nail bitter. It didn’t matter who you cheered for. The one aspect that I liked was the referees let the players play. What I mean is that there could have been penalties called and the refs left their flags in their pockets. Many will say the final pass interference penalty was the one that cost the Green Bay Packers the game. I think the one play that was interesting in their loss was the fact that on their final drive they kicked a field goal on 4th and goal instead of letting Aaron Rodgers try and score a touchdown and then getting the two-point conversion to tie the game.

Tom Brady

At the start of the game, Tom Brady looked great. I am still giving him a game stud despite the three interceptions. The three interceptions came in the second half of the game. He still went 20/36 for 280 yards and three touchdowns. Brady is one of the major reasons why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading to the Super Bowl. Here is a 43-year-old man who had little offseason time with new teammates and a new system and still was able to get Tampa to believe. The one touchdown pass he threw that made the difference in the game was the one right before the half when he hooked up with Scotty Miller for a 39-yard TD.

Chris Godwin

Here is a young man who all of a sudden had confidence issues. Godwin has dropped passes and you can see that it is starting to wear on him. In Sunday’s game, it happened but Godwin overcame that. He had five catches for 110 yards on nine targets. Godwin had a big catch after dropping one. He also had the biggest six-yard run that put the game away for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On a 3rd down and six yards to go, he ran an end-around and picked up the first down that set the Bucs up for a victory formation.

Shaq Barrett

Here is a guy that was big last year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led Tampa Bay in sacks. In this game, he had three sacks on Aaron Rodgers. Barrett had five total tackles and four solos. The Buccaneers defense was outstanding overall. The Tampa defense was able to force three and outs. Barrett had four quarterback hits. It was very important for him and Jason Pierre-Paul to get after Rodgers. The defense will have to be big in a couple of weeks as they will be hosting either the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the end, Leonard Fournette and Devin White are game studs as well. They both had big games. It is awesome for Tampa Bay sports. The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup, the Tampa Bay Rays made it to the World Series, the Tampa Bay Rowdies made it to their league championship game but it was canceled due to COVID-19. Now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to be the first team to host the Super Bowl. It was a total team victory as they edged the Green Bay Packers. Let’s see how they do in Super Bowl 55.
