Golden State Warriors: Can Steph Curry Guide W’s to Playoffs?

Steph Curry is going to be facing a lot of scrutiny and criticism this season. The Golden State Warriors trailed the Los Angeles Lakers by as many as 19 points on Monday night. Steph Curry hit some clutch shots and made some clutch plays in a 115-113 win for Golden State over Los Angeles.

Curry does not have shooting guard Klay Thompson by his side this season. Thompson tore his Achilles before the regular season started. A lot of people were wondering if Steph Curry could lead a team to the postseason by himself. Can he or won’t he?

Well, Golden State is currently 7-6 so far this season and they are currently the seventh seed in the Western Conference. Steph Curry is by far the best offensive player on the roster, but they are committing to the defensive end of the floor first by Head Coach Steve Kerr.

Draymond Green, James Wiseman, Kelly Oubre Jr., Andrew Wiggins, and Eric Paschall are some of the key players on this roster and are playing valuable minutes.

Curry scored 26 points and he shot 36.4 percent from the field. Steph Curry also grabbed one rebound, recorded seven assists, and recorded one steal.

Curry is the heartbeat and the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors. He has won back-to-back MVPS and other awards before in his illustrious NBA career.

The Golden State Warriors missed the playoffs last season and they want to get back to the playoffs and participate in postseason play this season in a tough Western Conference.

Steph Curry needs to continue to play at a high level moving forward if they want to make it to the playoffs. With all of the uncertainty this season due to the coronavirus, winning every game is going to matter.

Curry has been the leader on this basketball team for a very long time. Nothing has changed with the Golden State Warriors.

Final Thoughts

The dynasty isn’t with the W’s anymore and they went to five straight NBA Finals appearances from 2015-2019. They won three NBA Championships and all of them were against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

They lost to Cleveland in 2016 and blew a 3-1 series lead after going 73-9 during the regular season. Golden State lost to the Toronto Raptors in six games in the 2019 NBA Finals. Kevin Durant left to the Brooklyn Nets via free agency that offseason and Klay Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals in 2019 in the third-quarter.

Golden State is one of the best ran organizations in the NBA thanks to General Manager Bob Myers also here.

The Golden State Warriors (7-6) next game will be at home on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs (8-6).

The Los Angeles Lakers (11-4) next game will be on the road on Thursday night against the Milwaukee Bucks (9-5).
