Green Bay Packers: Pack to Host NFC Championship Game
Green Bay Packers fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time. With the 32-18 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday evening in the NFC Divisional Round, they will host the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 2008.
This is the first time in Aaron Rodgers career that he will be at home for the NFC Championship Game. Rodgers has been in the NFC Championship a few times before, but he was always on the road.
Back in 2008, Brett Favre was the quarterback for Green Bay, and they lost to the New York Giants 23-20 in overtime.
Green Bay Packers fan want to see a different result next week. At the moment, they will be able to celebrate the victory and Aaron Rodgers was one of the reasons why they won the football game.
Aaron Rodgers completed 23-of-36 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter also.
Rodgers is the heart and soul of the Green Bay Packers. He has continued to play well in big spots this season.
Speaking of big spots, the running game helped him out big time. The running game is one of the reasons why they are back in the NFC Championship Game for the second consecutive season. It starts and finishes with Aaron Jones.
Aaron Jones rushed for 99 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. He also caught one pass for 14 yards receiving. Along with Jones, Jamaal Williams has been a perfect complementary running back.
Jamaal Williams rushed for 65 yards on 12 carries.
A.J. Dillon rushed for 27 yards on six carries.
Allen Lazard caught four passes for 96 yards receiving and a touchdown. He has been the number two wide receiver all season long. Lazard dropped a huge touchdown earlier in the game, but Aaron Rodgers trusted him and this is why the Green Bay Packers are so good.
Speaking of being so good, Davante Adams has been very good this season for the Green Bay Packers. He caught nine passes for 66 yards receiving and a touchdown. Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
Robert Tonyan caught four passes for 60 yards receiving. His game improved throughout the regular season. Tonyan became a reliable target for Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers did enough to win this football game. They dominated the line of scrimmage from the start on both sides of the football.
This NFC Championship Game is going to be played next Sunday at Lambeau Field, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The Los Angeles Rams (11-7) season concludes.
