Buffalo Bills: Three Studs From Win Over Baltimore

The Buffalo Bills are in the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 1993. This comes after they defeated the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday Night. It was a fantastic performance from Buffalo as they battled the wind all night long to gain victory over a less than stellar Ravens squad. Who stood out for the Bills? Here are three studs from the win.

Josh Allen

We said in our keys to the game that Allen was going to need to perform. He has done that all season and Saturday was no different. Allen completed 23 of 36 passes for 206 yards and one TD. He found his favorite target, Stefon Diggs for eight of those 23 completions. The Buffalo Bills are in a good place with Allen under center. That is something that they have not been able to say since the days of Jim Kelly. If Josh Allen can continue to play at this level, the Bills will continue to go far for a long time.

The defense of the Buffalo Bills was spectacular. Defensive coordinator, Leslie Frazier showed why he is being considered for some of the head coaching openings around the NFL. He had his defense all over Lamar Jackson. Jackson was not able to find many running lanes. In fact, none of the Ravens were able to run the ball making them a one dimensional offense. How did that work out? Not very well either. Jackson was only able to complete 14 of 24 passes for 162 and 1 INT. That INT was returned 101 yards for a TD. This Bills defense is good enough to hang with some of the best offenses in the league and they showed that Saturday night.

Stefon Diggs

When the Buffalo Bills traded for Diggs in the offseason, many thought they gave up too much. As it stands, the Bills won that deal. Diggs has stepped right into his role as the number one receiver on this squad. He is also proving to be trouble for opposing defenses. Even when he is double teamed. Diggs continued his torrid pace Saturday. He had eight catches on his eleven targets. One of those receptions went for a TD. Diggs and Allen have a special bond and that has grown throughout the season. That continues to show as the playoffs roll on.

The Buffalo Bills will face the winner of Sunday’s game between the Cleveland Browns and the Kansas City Chiefs. If the Browns win, the Bills will host the AFC Championship Game, otherwise they travel to KC. Either way, this team is primed for a big show next week.
