Baltimore Ravens: Three Duds in Loss to Bills
The 2021 season for the Baltimore Ravens is done. This comes on the tails of losing to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. Now the questions in the offseason will begin. Can Lamar Jackson win the big game? What needs to be done to help Lamar Jackson? This and more will be asked all year long. What stood out from the loss on Saturday? Here are three duds from the game.
Jackson once again proved that the light is too big for him. He was ineffective on the night. Only completing 14 passes. Leslie Frazier, Buffalo’s DC, was constantly dialing up things that were throwing Jackson off his game. Jackson also had an interception on the night. That proved to be huge as he and the Ravens offense were unable to get anything going. Lamar would eventually leave the game at the end of the 3rd quarter with a concussion. However, it probably was not going to matter if he was in or not.
Tucker is usually automatic. Saying that, his nickname is “AutomaTuck.” However, on Saturday night, in the swirling winds of Orchard Park, NY Tuck was unable to hit. He doinked his first two kicks off the uprights. He would eventually make a kick just before the half. Nonetheless, had he hit the previous two the direction of the game may have changed. Everyone has their tough days/nights. Tucker’s just happened to come in a lose and go home situation.
The vaunted Baltimore Ravens defense was pretty much picked apart on Saturday night. It was pretty clear that Buffalo OC Brian Daboll’s game plan was to chuck the ball all night. Josh Allen threw the ball 37 times in a swirling wind. On the contrary Buffalo only ran the ball 16 times. While the Bills only amassed 220 yard on the evening it probably seemed like Baltimore was out on that field forever. I think there will be some changes in the backend of the Ravens defense coming this offseason. This will help them go farther.

It will be interesting to see what changes are made for the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. They have to get Lamar Jackson some more help on the outside. Marquise Brown is not reliable. His injury history tells us that. Jackson cannot always throw to Mark Andrews. Offense will most certainly be their biggest eye coming up.
