New York Giants Still Alive in the NFC East Race

The New York Giants are someway somehow alive in the NFC East race heading into Week 17 of the NFL Season. New York Giants Head Coach Joe Judge isn’t focused on the playoffs and he is focused on the Dallas Cowboys.

If New York wins and if the Washington Football Team (6-9) loses to the Philadelphia Eagles (4-10-1) on Sunday Night Football, the Giants will win the division for the first time since 2011.

That was the year they went onto win the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, but The New York Giants are not even close to being a Super Bowl caliber football team.

It is crazy to think that New York could win the division with a 6-10 record and this is the weakest division in NFL History. The Giants would face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-5) in the first-round of the NFL Playoffs if New York wins the division.

Tampa Bay and Tom Brady only beat them by two points in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at MetLife Stadium earlier in the season on Monday Night Football.

For some strange reasons, the Giants are favored by 2.5 points against The Cowboys. What is interesting is that New York put up 34 points in the last meeting but lost 37-34 in Arlington, Texas, at A T & T Stadium. That was the game where Dak Prescott injured his ankle and had to be carted off the field and miss the rest of the regular season.

Andy Dalton and the high powered Dallas Cowboys offense will look to potentially win the NFC East.

As for Daniel Jones, he needs to prove himself and win the big game. Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett would love nothing more than to knock out the former team he coached from playoff contention potentially.

Jones is the heartbeat for the New York Giants. Head Coach Joe Judge is committed to him as the starting quarterback for them in 2021 and potentially beyond.

Who would have thought before the regular season that the New York Giants would have been in contention for the NFC (L)East Title.

They could draft as high as number three if New York loses to Dallas. Draft positioning is also on the line if they lose this football game, but why not change the culture and win and beat the Cowboys if you are the Giants.

A lot is on the line. This could also be the final game that General Manager Dave Gettleman is in the front office for the New York Giants no matter what happens. They want to get a general manager who will want to work with Joe Judge in the long run.

The game between the Dallas Cowboys (6-9) and the New York Giants (5-10) will be on Sunday afternoon with kickoff set for 1 p.m. Eastern.
