Green Bay Packers: Is AJ Dillon the Secret Weapon?

The Green Bay Packers were facing a snow football game on Sunday night at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, against the Tennessee Titans. Green Bay’s offense abused Tennessee’s defense. AJ Dillon was one of the reasons why the Packers took down the Titans by a final score of 40-14.

Despite the Aaron Rodgers near perfection in this football game, the Packers maybe a run first team despite having Rodgers. Yeah, I just typed that and that is not a typo. What do I mean by that?

Well, the Green Bay Packers don’t need to put pressure on him all the time. Aaron Rodgers maybe the favorite to win the MVP Award over quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Rodgers completed 21-of-25 passes for 231 yards four touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 19 yards on three carries.

His top wide receiver option Davante Adams caught 11 passes for 142 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

Aaron Rodgers also threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Equanimeous St. Brown.

The reason why AJ Dillon was the biggest story is because he rushed for 124 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Dillon also caught one pass for five yards receiving.

He got a lot of looks because Aaron Jones was on the sideline for part of the game due to having a hip injury. Jones did rush for 94 yards on 10 carries and he is also one of the better running backs in the NFL.

Dillon was the second running back in this football game due an injury to Jamaal Williams. AJ Dillon is probably going to stay as the second running back for good after this performance.

He was a second-round pick out of Boston College. A lot of people believed that was a wasted pick, along with the Jordan Love first-round pick of Utah State at the quarterback position in the first-round.

This is probably why Dillon was drafted. The Green Bay Packers were told all season they needed another wide receiver and this is probably they tuned out the outside noise.

AJ Dillon could potentially be the heart and soul of the Green Bay Packers running back group. However, the tandem of Jones and Dillon could potentially work in the long run.

The running game will help out Aaron Rodgers and set up play action, especially for other players like Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Robert Tonyan.

Tonyan caught one pass for 17 yards receiving.

Lazard caught two passes for 14 yards receiving.

At the end of the day, the Green Bay Packers are going to be even more dangerous with AJ Dillon emerging at the running back position late in the season.

The Tennessee Titans (10-5) will be on the road against the Houston Texans (4-11) this Sunday afternoon. With a win or a Indianapolis Colts (10-5) to the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-14), Tennessee will win the division in the AFC South.

The Green Bay Packers (12-3) will be on the road against the Chicago Bears (8-7) this Sunday afternoon. With a win or some help, they will be the number one seed in the NFC Playoffs.
