Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Three Studs versus the Detroit Lions

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans have been waiting a long time for what occurred today. If they won over the Detroit Lions, they would punch a ticket to the postseason. The Lions once again will have to clean house as far as a coach and general manager. The general manager search has already begun. On the flip side for the Buccaneers the whole drama between Brady and Arians can be put to rest. The team had a blowout win and bench, Tom Brady, in the second half because of the dominant first half. It was not just the offense that had a great first half the defense did as well. Matthew Stafford was hurt on the Lions’ first drive and it never looked right for them. This was the type of game that Tampa Bay needed heading into the playoffs. They have one final game against the Falcons.

Tom Brady

For all the so-called Brady haters this type of game that he and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had today shut them up. Therefore, many call him the GOAT. He dominates with the New England Patriots for 20 years and now he is delivering for Tampa Bay. In today’s game, he only played the first half. In that half, the Buccaneers scored 34 points and lead 34-0. Brady went 22/27 for 348 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. He was only sacked once. Brady looked amazingly comfortable. He broke the Bucs single-season touchdown passing record throwing 34 touchdown passes with one game to go. Brady also did this why playing in his 300th career game.

Mike Evans

Evans has been a big part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ success this year. He had 10 catches for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Earlier in the year, there was some controversy between Brady and Evans. Evans is a big part of the offense and you saw today moving forward what a force he is. He is one of the best receivers in the game today. When he and Chris Godwin are on the field and then add Antonio Brown, it will be hard for most defenses to keep the Bucs at bay. I can see Evans having another good game in week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This will be the first time since 2007 that they will be in the playoffs. It must be a relief that the fans can now celebrate that the longest playoff drought in the NFC is over. This is a team that had back-to-back 5-11 seasons and finished 7-9 one year ago. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now 10-5 and have a chance to win 11 games next week. The team like all except a few have had their up and downs. No matter what they achieve the first goal to make the playoffs and hopefully they get through the rounds and arrive in the Super Bowl.

This game had a tale for two teams. For the Detroit Lions, it is another year to wonder when their playoff drought is going to end. They will be starting fresh with a new general manager and head coach. On the other hand, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a bright future they are heading to the postseason for the first time in 13 years. With one game left the Bucs will finish the season against the Falcons who they defeated in week 15. Let’s see how Tampa Bay does in its final game of 2020.
