Baltimore Ravens: Are They Dangerous All of a Sudden?

The Baltimore Ravens had a huge Monday night football game on the road. If they took down the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore would be in a great chance to make it to the postseason. If the Ravens lost, they would have been in deep trouble with three weeks to go in the regular season. Justin Tucker hit the game-winning field goal from 55 yards out with under five seconds remaining to give them a 47-42 win over Cleveland.

The Baltimore Ravens have now won two straight games and it appears as if they are getting hot at the right time. They have an easy schedule for the final three games of the regular season. It is very possible they could be on a five-game winning streak entering the playoffs.

It is very possible that Baltimore will be very hot entering the postseason. Their season was saved because of Lamar Jackson. He left the game in the fourth-quarter due to cramps. Jackson had to go back to the locker room and get treatment.

Trace McSorley had to come into the game, but he also got hurt in the fourth-quarter. They were trailing 35-34 at the moment and a critical fourth down was coming up with two minutes remaining in regulation.

Jackson scrambled and it looked like he was going to pick up the first down on a run, but threw it to Marquise Brown for a 44-yard touchdown pass. They were able to convert the two-point on the play.

The Cleveland Browns marched down the field quickly and rapidly after that, but Jackson made some big plays to set up the Tucker field goal.

He has been a different quarterback the last two games since missing the Pittsburgh Steelers game with the Coronavirus.

Lamar Jackson is the heart and soul of the Baltimore Ravens. He has been focused and dialed in lately.

Baltimore was the top seed in the AFC last season. They won’t have as much pressure on them this season to get it done.

Also, Jackson is the reigning MVP. He completed 11-of-17 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 124 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns.

Trace McSorley completed 1-of-4 passes for 13 yards. He also rushed for one yard on two carries.

The running game is what is going to scare opponents down the stretch. The running back tandem of J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards is going to be headaches for opposing defenses down the stretch.

Dobbins rushed for 53 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown.

Edwards rushed for 49 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns. He also caught one pass for four yards receiving.

Mark Andrews was the leading receiver for Baltimore with five receptions for 78 yards receiving. He is Lamar Jackson’s favorite target.

Marquise Brown caught two passes for 50 yards receiving and a touchdown. He has a case of the dropped passes and Brown and other wide receivers need to step up.

Dez Bryant will hopefully be back for the next game due to the Coronavirus.

The defense has many holes except for cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who is one of the best defensive players in the entire NFL.

Head Coach John Harbaugh and Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman deserve a ton of credit for keeping this football team focused.

The Baltimore Ravens are a team that no one wants face in the playoffs if they get the right draw and match up. This postseason in 2020-2021 will all be about the match ups each team draws.

The next game for the Baltimore Ravens (8-5) will be at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-12) next Sunday. Baltimore is currently the eighth seed in the AFC. The Miami Dolphins (8-5) are currently the seventh seed in the AFC.

The next game for the Cleveland Browns (9-4) will be on the road against the New York Giants (5-8) next Sunday night. Cleveland is currently in fifth place in the AFC. They have the same record as the Indianapolis Colts (9-4), but the Browns own the tiebreaker over the Colts because Cleveland defeated Indianapolis earlier in the regular season.

The Baltimore Ravens swept the season series from the Cleveland Browns and they are looking for their first Super Bowl Title since the 2012 season against the San Francisco 49ers.
