Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts is the New Kid in Town
The Philadelphia Eagles decided to switch from Carson Wentz to Jalen Hurts as the starting quarterback for Philadelphia. Head Coach Doug Pederson made the right call as the Eagles upset the New Orleans Saints by a final score of 24-21.
Philadelphia had a 17-0 lead at one point and it appeared as if they were going to blow it, but this looks much more sharper and focused with Jalen Hurts than it did with Carson Wentz.
This is Hurts’s team moving forward. Wentz’s days with the Philadelphia Eagles appears to be done and finished.
The defense and everything else seemed to be charged and energized. Their is no chance Philadelphia wins this football game with Wentz taking snaps under center.
Hurts completed 17-of-30 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 106 yards on 18 carries.
Jalen Hurts is the heartbeat and the heart and soul of the Philadelphia Eagles. He is going to keep this football team focused moving forward.
Miles Sanders rushed for 115 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns. This was the best he has played all season long. He also caught four passes for 21 yards receiving.
Jalen Reagor rushed for 19 yards on one carry. He also caught two passes for 46 yards receiving.
Dallas Goedert caught four passes for 43 yards receiving.
Greg Ward Jr. caught two passes for 20 yards receiving.
Alshon Jeffrey caught a 15-yard touchdown reception in the second-quarter for the Philadelphia Eagles.
At this point, it is a long shot for Philadelphia to make it to the playoffs in the NFC East, but this game proved that Jalen Hurts is the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and they need to get rid of Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts or to another team via trade.
This win for the Philadelphia Eagles proved that General Manager Howie Roseman, Head Coach Doug Pederson, and others weren’t the problem in Philadelphia.
The major problem was quarterback Carson Wentz. Philadelphia has its new savior since Nick Foles in Jalen Hurts. This football team can’t make the same mistake twice. I expect them to make it right this time around and trade Wentz and keep Hurts. They should have never let Foles walk out the door in the first place.
Jalen Hurts has provided new life for Philadelphia and he has won every where he has played including The University of Alabama and The University of Oklahoma. Hurts provided a spark that this football team desperately needed and they weren’t getting it with Carson Wentz.
A lot of people are blind sided that people other than Wentz were the problem and in this game, it proved that Carson Wentz is not the leader of this football team moving forward and it is Jalen Hurts instead. We will see what happens moving forward and this could be something to keep an eye on as well here.
