Fantasy Football: Week 14 Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em
Welcome Back fans of the NFL. Here we are back for another year of fantasy football. It is time to get those lineup set and chase down that money. That is if you are playing for money. Here at the IroniqMedia, we do not bring you the heavy starters. You should not need any help starting those. We bring the players that you may have a question about starting or sitting. Thus, without further ado here are your week 14, starts and sits.
Bye Week – None
Quarterback
Start: Philip Rivers – Indianapolis Colts
Rivers is facing an old foe in the Las Vegas Raiders. While he may be with a new team, he knows this opponent well. Rivers has played well as of late. I would expect that trend to continue this week. The Raiders are giving up the 10th-most fantasy PPG to QBs. Last week they gave up a 20 spot to Sam Darnold. Rivers should excel in week 14.
Sit: Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins
Tua has a huge matchup this week. The Dolphins have a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. This is going to be a real test for Miami. While the Chiefs defense can be beaten, I am not sure there is enough in Miami to do it just yet. Tua is high-risk if you have to play him this week.
Running Back
Start: Melvin Gordon – Denver Broncos
Gordon and the Broncos have a very friendly matchup in week 14. Gordon should be a very reliable fantasy option this week for you. The Carolina Panthers have allowed 12 rushing TDs this season. They are also allowing the sixth-most FPPG to the position.
Sit: Devontae Booker – Las Vegas Raiders
This is not a very strong matchup as the Raiders are taking an Indianapolis Colts team that has been tough on the run all season. Couple that with a minimal performance last week and we choose to sit Booker. If you are forced to play him take caution and do not expect a lot.
Wide Receiver
Start: Corey Davis – Tennessee Titans
Davis has a monster matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Play him with confidence in week 14. Especially coming off his 180 yards 1 TD performance last week. The Jaguars secondary has allowed 14 TDs to WRs this season.
Sit: JuJu Smith-Schuster – Pittsburgh Steelers
Depending on your league depth, you may have to start Smith-Schuster. However, do so with caution. There may be other options out there that have a better chance at producing. The Steelers play the Buffalo Bills this week. They have only allowed one receiver to break 13 fantasy points this season.
Tight End
Start: Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys
This could be one of the few remaining games in which you play a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Their week 14 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals should be one in their favor. TEs are scoring very nicely against the Bengals defense. They have are allowing 16 fantasy PPG and seven TDs to the position.
Sit: Austin Hooper – Cleveland Browns
Hooper was the hottest TE during the free agency period. However, he has not lived up to the hype. This is especially true in the last month. Hooper also did not fare well in game one against the Baltimore Ravens. This low output almost makes him a cut candidate. It definitely makes him a sit.
Defense
Start: Seattle Seahawks
Let us try the Seahawks again. However, they should be productive this week as they take on the New York Jets. The league dumpster fire is averaging the fewest points and yards per game. They also have allowed 33 sacks on the season. Carlos Dunlap and company will be high scoring in week 14.
Sit: Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are a strong fade for me this week. Their output last week against a Jacksonville Jaguars team, although double digits were minimal. They travel to South Florida this week to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs offense is only allowing five fantasy PPG on the season.
Sleepers
Offense: Jonathan Taylor – Indianapolis Colts
Taylor is finally healthy again, and his production is showing. Do not nap on him this week against the Las Vegas Raiders. His high per carry average last week should continue in week 14. The Raiders are allowing the 4th-most fantasy PPG this season to RBs.
Defense: Houston Texans
The Texans play the Chicago Bears this week. The Bears have been allowing the most fantasy PPG to the opposing defense since week eight. This defense has the opportunity to be big for you during the fantasy playoffs.
There you have it, your week fourteen starts and sits for the 2020 NFL Season. We are going to be here for 16 weeks. We hope to help win some games during that time.
