New England Patriots: Looking Ahead to Week 14 vs Los Angeles Rams

The New England Patriots have been a quiet team for most of the season. This past Sunday they made a statement in a win. New England shut out the Los Angeles Chargers 45-0. The Patriots have won their last two games to get back to 6-6 on the season. With the extra playoff team this year New England has a shot to get back to the playoffs. The play of Cam Newton has been good. In a weird way do not count them out until the end. Out of four remaining games, three of them are against division opponents. The Chargers are a young team with an upcoming great quarterback in Justin Hebert. The Los Angeles Rams are up next a team that is trying to win their division and punches their own ticket to the playoffs. This game will be a rematch of the Super Bowl.

New England Patriots

This will be a challenge for the Patriots. The Rams are a good football team. Last week was a complete game for the New England Patriots. Both quarterbacks had a touchdown pass. Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham both share the role. Newton once again shined having two more rushing touchdowns. He accounted for half of New England scoring. On the ground, Sony Michel and Damian Harris both contributed. Harris had 80 yards and Michel had 35. Along with Newton 48 yards. This week they will be tested by one of the best defensive players in the NFL in Aaron Donald. The defense of the Patriots will be tested with Jared Goff, Cooper Kupp, and Robert Woods. The Rams can also run with Cam Akers. Belichick will have a game plan ready for that. The offense will have to be a lot like it was against the Chargers and Cardinals.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams come into this game tied with the Seattle Seahawks for the division lead in the NFC West. They defeated the Arizona Cardinals by 10 points 38-28. They have one game against the Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks game is in week 16. The two blemishes for Los Angeles in the 49ers. I think the New England Patriots are a better team than San Francisco. The Rams will have to be ready because they have a better shot at making the postseason than the Patriots do. Aaron Donald will have to ready for Cam Newton. Jared Goff will have to use his weapons against the Pats’ defense. They cannot lose ground to Seattle for the division. After the Patriots they still have the winless New York Jets in week 17.

This will be the Thursday game so it is a short week for both teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 PM EST. The last time these two teams met was in the Super Bowl. Most will call it a boring one that was a defense dominated game. In the end, Tom Brady won his sixth and at the time they are tied with the Pittsburg Steelers for most in NFL history. This game as I mentioned is much more important to the Rams. It would be bog for the New England Patriots to win their third straight game. Let us see what happens.
