NHL: Bold Predictions for the 2020-2021 Season
The NHL regular season is supposed to start sometime on New Year’s Day, which is on January 1st. The Tampa Bay Lightning are the defending Stanley Cup Champions and they defeated the Dallas Stars in six games. At the moment, we have no idea when the season could begin.
Their could be a lockout, but let’s hope that isn’t the case here. Talks are possible that a 52 to 56-game is possible and they want the season to end in early July (Stanley Cup Playoffs).
What are the bold predictions going to be for each NHL this team this upcoming season?
Eastern Conference
Boston Bruins
They will miss the playoffs with having Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak sidelined to start the season due to injuries.

The Taylor Hall and Jack Eichel experiment will fail and they will have the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Sebastian Aho leads the league in goals scored
Columbus Blue Jackets
They will miss the playoffs due to a lack of goal scoring.
Detroit Red Wings
They won’t score a lot of goals, but they won’t give up a lot of goals either.
Florida Panthers
Jonathan Huberdeau finishes in the NHL’s Top 10 in points.
Montreal Canadiens
With gaining experience in the Stanley Cup Playoffs due to the Coronavirus situation, the Montreal Canadiens will continue to grow this season and be the three seed in the Atlantic Division and make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The rebuilding Anaheim Ducks struggle to win 15-20 games this season.

They win The Presidents’ Trophy for the 2020-2021 regular season and they will also win the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2001 in seven games against the New Jersey Devils. They will also be the first to win it all since the 2012-2013 Chicago Blackhawks to have the most points in the NHL.
