Philadelphia Eagles: Time to Fire General Manager Howie Roseman?

The Philadelphia Eagles lost another game on Monday night football against the Seattle Seahawks by a final score of 23-17. This wasn’t the biggest story. Philadelphia is currently in a free fall and is it time for them to fire General Manager Howie Roseman?

I don’t think they should fire him. He just needs to admit he made a mistake by keeping Carson Wentz over Nick Foles. There is a good reason why he drafted Jalen Hurts in the second round of the NFL this past season out of the University of Oklahoma.

Hurts needs to be the starting quarterback the rest of the season. Everyone in the locker room has given up on Carson Wentz. They definitely miss Nick Foles and should have never let him walk out the door after he helped them win a Super Bowl and almost deliver another one as well.

Clock is Ticking for Carson

Wentz doesn’t have a playoff victory in his career and is a proven bust. He was drafted second overall back in 2016 out of North Dakota State. Carson Wentz should have never been given a big contract and they can’t release him because of it. They could trade him to another team.

He is the worst quarterback in the NFL this season and became unwatchable. Wentz completed 25-of-45 passes for 215 yards two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 42 yards on five carries.

Carson Wentz is the heartbeat of the Philadelphia Eagles at the moment. This football team could be moving in a different direction at the end of the regular season.

Jalen Hurts completed 1-of-1 passes for six yards receiving. His only completion was to Alshon Jeffrey in the second quarter and head coach Doug Pederson should’ve kept him in the game.

General manager Howie Roseman also passed up on wide receivers D.K. Metcalf and Justin Jefferson in the NFL Draft and drafted J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Jalen Reagor instead.

Talent on the Roster

There is enough talent on this roster to win games otherwise. If this team had Nick Foles instead of Carson Wentz, there is no way Philadelphia would be 3-7-1 at the moment. Wentz has taken 46 sacks and been picked off 15 times this season. He has only thrown for 16 touchdowns this season.

They are currently in third place in the NFC East. The current standings at the moment are 1. New York Giants (4-7) 2. The Washington Football Team (4-7) 3. Philadelphia Eagles (3-7-1) and 4. Dallas Cowboys (3-8).

Philadelphia only has a 29 percent chance to win the division. I think if Pederson and Roseman get fired at the end of the season, quarterback Carson Wentz deserves all of the blame.

Pederson and Roseman will have a job in 20 minutes and Wentz could only be fixable if he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts because Frank Reich was his offensive coordinator during the 2017 regular season.
