Which players are going to be ranked 10-1?

10. Artemi Panarin, LW, New York Rangers

Panarin is one of the most finesse players in the NHL. He made the New York Rangers more competitive this season and Artemi Panarin is the best goal scorer New York has had in a long time.

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Columbus Blue Jackets regret not having him anymore. Panarin is already 29 years old and is in the prime of his NFL career. He played in 69 games last season with New York. Artemi Panarin scored 32 goals and recorded 63 assists. His plus/minus was 36.

9. David Pastrnak, RW, Boston Bruins

Pastrnak is only 24 years old and will miss some time to start the 2021 season due to offseason surgery. He is one of the elite goal scorers in the NHL as well. David Pastrnak is only 24 years old and he could be a future captain of the Boston Bruins.

He is a young version of Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals on the right side of the ice. Pastrnak played in 70 games last season for Boston. He scored 48 goals and recorded 47 assists. His plus/minus was 21.

8. Patrick Kane, LW, Chicago Blackhawks

Kane is 32 years old and has already three Stanley Cups on his resume, along with other hardware to his name as well including the Hart Trophy (MVP) in the 2015-2016 season. He is one of the best goal scorers and players to ever play in the NHL.

Patrick Kane will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day whenever he retires. Kane would like to win one more Stanley Cup with his running partner Captain Jonathan Toews, but Chicago is in rebuild mode. Patrick Kane played in 70 games last season. He scored 33 goals and recorded 51 assists. His plus/minus was 8.

7. Brad Marchand, LW, Boston Bruins

Marchand is one of the most hated players in the NHL, but he is also one of the most skilled, talented, and finesse players in the NHL as well. Brad Marchand also has a killer instinct whenever the game is on the line for the Boston Bruins.

He is also 32 years old and his time is running out in trying to help the Bruins win another Stanley Cup in Boston. Marchand played in 70 games last season. He scored 28 goals and recorded 59 assists. His plus/minus was 25.

6. Nikita Kucherov, RW, Tampa Bay Lightning

Kucherov is also one of the most talented wingers in the NHL. He helped the Tampa Bay Lightning win the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 2004 this past season. Tampa Bay took down the Dallas Stars in six games in the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals and took down the Calgary Flames in seven games in the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals.

Nikita Kucherov stepped up his game big time, along with Brayden Point without captain Steven Stamkos for most of the playoffs due to injury. Kucherov is also one of the silkiest passers and finishers in the NHL. He played in 68 games this past season. Nikita Kucherov scored 33 goals and recorded 52 assists. His plus/minus was 26. Kucherov is only 27 years old.

5. Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

MacKinnon cracks the Top 5 here and can very well be in the top 2 or even the best player in the world one day. He showed his dominance in the postseason. Nathan MacKinnon was posting Wayne Gretzky like numbers in the playoffs as Gretzky did with the Edmonton Oilers. The Colorado Avalanche lost to the Dallas Stars in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in seven games.

Colorado is on track to win the Stanley Cup title for the first time since 2001 against the New Jersey Devils in seven games because of him. MacKinnon is only 25 years old and he also trains with Pittsburgh Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby every offseason. Nathan MacKinnon played in 69 games last season with the Colorado Avalanche. He scored 35 goals and recorded 58 assists. His plus/minus was 13.

4. Leon Draisaitl, C/RW, Edmonton Oilers

Draisaitl is one of the most talented centers and wingers in the NHL. He plays on the second line center and also first power-play wing with Connor McDavid. Leon Draisaitl stepped up big time when McDavid got hurt.

Because of it, he won the Hart Trophy (MVP) this past season. Draisaitl is referred to as the “German Gretzky.” He is only 25 years old and they could potentially win a Stanley Cup together if they get the right pieces. Leon Draisaitl played in 71 games last season. He scored 43 goals and recorded 67 assists. His plus/minus was -7.

3. Alex Ovechkin, RW, Washington Capitals

Ovechkin is 35 years old and is potentially the greatest goal scorer to ever touch the ice in the NHL. He has helped the Washington Capitals win one Stanley Cup Title. Alex Ovechkin is in the final year of his contract and wants to try and win one more Stanley Cup Title in his illustrious career, but he may be more about goal scoring chasing than anything else at this point.

Could he reunite with Barry Trotz? Will see because he was the coach of the Washington Capitals when they won the Stanley Cup in 2018 in five games against the Vegas Golden Knights. Joining the New York Islanders seems like a long shot at this point. Alex Ovechkin played in 68 games last season with the Washington Capitals. He scored 48 goals and recorded 19 assists. His plus/minus was -12.

2. Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins

At 33 years old, Sidney Crosby is trying to win one last Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Will he do it with the core of Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, who are both in the final year of their respective contracts? It remains to be seen. Crosby is still a finesse passer, goal scorer, and skater.

Sidney Crosby has so much hardware throughout his illustrious career. He had some injuries last season but was pretty much dominant whenever he was on the ice. Crosby only played in 41 games last season. He scored 16 goals and recorded 31 assists. His plus/minus was -8.

1. Connor McDavid, C, Edmonton Oilers

People will tell you across the NHL that Connor McDavid is currently the best player in the world at this moment. He is only 23 years old and will be a hockey phenomenon for years to come. McDavid may only need to win one Stanley Cup title to cement his legacy because of some of the dysfunction he is currently dealing with in the organization.

Connor McDavid is the heartbeat and the heart and soul of the Edmonton Oilers. He could be one of the best players to ever play the game when it is all said and done. McDavid is fortunate that he has Leon Draisaitl on his side. Connor McDavid played in 64 games last season with Edmonton. He scored 34 goals and recorded 63 assists. His plus/minus was -6 this past season with the Oilers as well.
