Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Peeking Ahead vs the LA Rams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed a bounce-back game after being embarrassed by the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night football last week. This happened at home and they hit the road to play the Carolina Panthers. Let us talk about that travel because the team plane was delayed seven and a half hours. That did not affect their game except when Ronald Jones fumbled on their opening drive. Speaking of Mr. Jones he set a Buccaneers franchise record having a 98-yard run which is the longest in franchise history. Many fans that I chance to talk to said they looked sloppy but at the end of the day they got a win. Brady went 28/39 for 341 yards and three touchdowns. The offense was clicking with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski all having a part. Tampa will have to ready for the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams find themselves in a three-way tie in the NFC West. The other two teams are the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks which face off this week. That is why this game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers is important to them. If they lose they will fall back to the team that wins between the Cardinals and Seahawks. Los Angeles is coming off a win against the Seattle Seahawks. We all know that they have a great defense led by Aaron Donald. He will look to oppose his threat on Tom Brady and the Bucs offense. The offense led by Jared Goff will have to be good against the Tampa Bay defense. The running game has been good for the Rams as it had all three scores last week. The Bucs have been good against the run so the Rams will have to try something else.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a game that we all thought they would after losing to the Saints. They doubled up the Panthers 46-23. The game was tied at 17 at the half. Tampa Bay had 544 total yards to the Panthers 187. Like I mentioned before the offense was firing on all cylinders. The one problem that many will look at is that the Bucs were only 4/8 in red-zone efficiency. If they had scored on all eight who knows what the score would have been it could have been 67 points scored. The defense had one turnover and one sack which has been low compared to the previous games. I think that will have to get better against the Rams who need to have a better offensive output this Monday. The Buccaneers will have to make sure Aaron Donald does not have a big game.

This is the Monday night game at Raymond James Stadium kickoff is set at 8:15 Pm EST. This game is important for both teams for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to keep pace with the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South. For the Los Angeles Rams, they cannot afford to fall behind the Cardinals and Seahawks in the NFC West. The Bucs will get better on defense and continue to be a great offense. The Rams will need Goff and company to step up if they are going to win.
