New England Patriots: Looking Ahead vs the Houston Texans
The New England Patriots are coming off what many call an upset win over the Baltimore Ravens. We all heard that is why they play the games. On paper, the Ravens should have won but the Pats proved everyone wrong. The Patriots led at halftime 13-10. It was a rainy night which changes every aspect. It makes it harder to throw the ball and hang on to it. New England did not have a turnover but the Ravens had one. Baltimore was ahead in everything but the score. This game meant more to the Ravens but it also helps the Patriots get closer to a .500 record. This also shows that New England is not done. They are not the same team but they are far from done. Bill Belichick always seems to find a way to win games like this one.
New England Patriots
Cam Newton once again as he has most of the year has helped the New England Patriots win with both his arm and legs. Against the Baltimore Ravens, he finished the game 13/17 for 118 yards, one touchdown and he rushed for 21 yards on 11 carries and one touchdown. Jacobi Myers wants again to play a big role in the victory. He had one pass for 24 yards that resulted in a touchdown to Rex Burkhead. That was one of two that he had on the night. The defense held Lamar Jackson in check he only rushed for 55 yards and he only had two touchdowns and one interception. The Ravens ground game only had 115 yards and the two touchdowns came from Willie Snead IV. This game could be the one that helps turn the season around. They will now head on the road to play the Houston Texans.
This is a team that has been upside down since the start of the season. They fired Bill O’Brien who their head coach and general manager. He made a bone head trade when he traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals for David Johnson. Hopkins has been outstanding for the Cardinals let us take a look at last week when he caught a Hail Mary pass from Kyler Murray in a win over the Buffalo Bills. The Texans are 2-7 and have struggled at times. There have been rumors that they want to trade J.J Watt. Houston loses last week to the Cleveland Browns by three points 10-7. In the past, the Texans were a team that gave the New England Patriots trouble. This game is completely different because neither team may make the playoffs. Let us see how the Texans play against New England on Sunday afternoon.
The game will have a 1 PM EST kickoff at NRG Stadium in Houston. This game could be the one that the New England Patriots get back to a .500 overall record. Deshaun Watson will have to have a comeback game, unlike the one that he had against the Browns. Cam Newton on the other hand can keep playing as he has and the Patriots should have no worries. Look for Jacobi Myers to play another big role in helping the Patriots’ offense. I will be watching on Sunday afternoon to see how New England does against the Texans.
