Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Looking Ahead versus Carolina Panthers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off their worst game of this season. Many were hoping they would get revenge against the New Orleans Saints. For some reason, Drew Brees plays well against Tampa Bay. The Bucs set an NFL record that they probably will regret in only rushing for eight total yards. That is the lowest total of rushing yards in any game. Many people want to point the finger at Tom Brady who threw three interceptions. This was a team loss in my opinion. It seems that no one was ready to play. Many were saying that the Buccaneers were one of the top three teams in the NFL. That theory was proven wrong after the Saints game. I believe that Tampa Bay will have a bounce-back game as they hit the road to play the Carolina Panthers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If you look at the last two games the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have played is a letdown from the ones they play against the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders. They barely beat at struggling New York Giants team. Many say that Bryon Leftwich’s game plans have not been that good. Tampa Bay has struggled on getting first downs. The good news this week is the Carolina Panthers will be without running back Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey is a generational player and has been a menace since coming out of Stanford University. This like all divisional games is important. Tampa Bay is 0-2 against the Saints but is 1-0 against the Panthers. They have yet to play the Atlanta Falcons which they play at the end of the season. They beat the Panthers 31-17 earlier in the year. Let’s hope they have a bounce-back game this week.
The Panthers come into this game with a 3-6 record. Their last game was a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The final score 33-31. It was a lot closer than many people thought it would be. Carolina has played five division games and won only one. That win came against the Atlanta Falcons. Teddy Bridgewater has been good since coming over from the Saints. The offense shows signs in the week two game against the Buccaneers. The defense struggled so that will have to get better now that Antonio BrownAntonio BrownAntonio Brown has another week to get used to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense. This game is very important to both teams. Carolina with a win can get closer to a .500 record. I am sure they would love to get some revenge against Tampa Bay after they lost earlier in the year to them.
One of two things is going to happen at 1 PM EST. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to get a bounce-back win or the Carolina Panthers get a win and their second win in the division. This game is important to Tampa Bay because they had such a good first half of the season and do not want it to slip away in the second half. Especially with the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs on the horizon. Look for them to come out and play as they did earlier by playing solid offense and defense.
