New England Patriots: Peeking Ahead versus Baltimore Ravens

The New England Patriots come into week 10 with a 3-5 record. Coming off a come from behind win against the winless New York Jets. Cam Newton had a bounce-back game going 27/35 for 274 yards and ran for 16 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns. It seems like Newton and Jakobi Meyers are getting a better relationship. He was targeted 14 times he had 12 catches for 169 yards. One of the biggest catches was on the final drive that led to a game-winning field goal. Newton took the loss to the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago to heart. We all know fumbled on the last drive which gave the Bills a win against the Patriots in a long time. It was nice to see the running game to have a decent game. This week they host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens come into this game against the New England Patriots at 6-2. Their last game was a win against the Indianapolis Colts. The final score was 24-10. They are currently in second place in the AFC North behind the undefeated Pittsburg Steelers. The Ravens have success mostly because of Lamar Jackson. Jackson won the NFL MVP last year. This year it seems that some teams have figured out how to keep him at bay. The two losses have come to the Kansas City Chiefs by 14 points 34-20 and the Steelers by four points 28-24. Both of those teams have good defenses to make Jackson throw the ball rather than use his legs. New England defense is missing stars so we will see how Jackson does this Sunday evening. Also, can the Ravens defense keep Cam Newton from beating them?

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots come into this week at 3-5. This is weird for New England because normally they would have a better record. This team is different and has found ways to win. For example, coming off a come from behind win over the winless New York Jets. The Jets played good enough to win the game. The week before had Cam Newton not fumbled they have beat the Buffalo Bills. Bill Belichick has a plan and is doing the best of what he has. They will definitely have a challenge on their hands against the Ravens. The defense will have to have a good game to slow down J.K. Dobbins and Lamar Jackson. On the offense side of the ball, Cam Newton will have to continue to feed the ball to Jacobi Myers. If they do both they will have a chance to win against Baltimore.

This will not be the normal Baltimore Ravens versus New England Patriots game. In the past, these games would mean a lot more. In my opinion, this game is much more important to the Ravens. The reason is they have to keep up with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the division. The Patriots are third in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. This would be a huge win if they can beat Baltimore. Kickoff is scheduled at 8:20 PM on Sunday night you can watch the game on NBC.
