Florida Gators: Looking Ahead to the Arkansas Razorbacks
The Florida Gators are coming off a huge win over the Georgia Bulldogs. This was the first time in four years they have beat their rival. All roads lead to them playing the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship in Atlanta. The game could have gotten out of hand as the Bulldogs quickly took a 14-0 lead. The Gators got back into the game and took the game over in the second quarter. In that quarter they scored 24 points. In the game, there were injuries on both sides that could affect the weeks coming up. For Florida, it was a tight end, Kyle Pitts. Pitts was injured after taking a shot to his head. After he left the game, he did not return but the offense did not miss a beat. The defense played a huge role in stopping the Bulldogs offense which looks out of sorts.
The Razorbacks come into the game at 3-3. This has been one of the teams that have been a surprise in the SEC. Arkansas’s three wins have been against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, and the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols were their latest victim last Saturday with a 24-13 win. The Razorbacks have lost the Georgia Bulldogs by 17 27-10, the Auburn Tigers 30-28, and to the Texas A.M. Aggies 42-31. The Aggies are the only team this year that has beaten the Florida Gators. Feleipe Franks the former Florida quarterback will make his return to the Swamp this week after he transferred. He went 18/24 for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Arkansas has a good pass attack that they will try and beat the Gators with on Saturday at 7 PM EST. Will Franks not off his former team?
Coming off a win over the Georgia Bulldogs let us hope the Florida Gators do not overlook the Arkansas Razorbacks. I do not think that will happen because Dan Mullen will have them ready. Kyle Trask looked great and spread the ball around against Georgia. His only mistake was the one interception he threw which was a pick-six. Trask missed his main weapon in Kyle Pitts who will hopefully be ready on Saturday night. The defense was great getting three interceptions and holding the Bulldogs to 277 total yards of offense. Georgia rushing attack was held to 165 yards which normally has gone over 2o0 yards in some of their games this year. I have a good feeling the defense will get ready for Feleipe Franks and his return. Kyle Trask will look to continue what could be a Heisman Trophy year.
Many would call this a trap game for the Florida Gators. The Arkansas Razorbacks have been one of those teams that have proved they can win and beat a good team. The Gators are now in the drivers’ seat to play in the SEC Championship game. The only way that does not happen is of injuries. After this game, they have four remaining. For Arkansas, they only have three. This Razorbacks team is in the middle of the pack with a bright future. I do not believe they have the firepower to beat the Gators. I will be watching the game on Saturday night!
