New York Giants: Defense Leading the Way

The New York Giants defense had a bend but never break like defense in the game. When Alex Smith and the Washington Football Team had chances to tie or potentially win the game, New York’s defense shut it down by picking off Alex Smith twice in a 23-20 for the Giants over the Washington Football Team.

New York’s two wins this season have come against Washington. Daniel Jones is 4-0 in his career against them and his only other win in his NFL career as a starting quarterback came in Week 3 of last season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kyle Allen also had to leave this game for Washington due to a gruesome leg injury. He had to be carted off the field and did not return.

The NFC East is extremely bad and the Giants are not out of it. Logan Ryan, Blake Martinez, and Jabrill Peppers each had an interception for New York. They also forced two other turnovers in this football game.

The defense has been very good for this football team this season. Patrick Graham is the defensive coordinator of this football team. He has done a tremendous job of calling blitzes and mixing up coverages this season.

Joe Judge is the head coach of this football team and Jason Garrett is the offensive coordinator of this football team. The New York Giants defense still needs some pieces like getting a second cornerback. Although James Bradberry has been solid so far this season.

Another key in this game as to why New York was successful is because they didn’t commit any turnovers.

Daniel Jones completed 23-of-34 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for four yards on six carries.

Wanye Gallman rushed for 68 yards on 14 carries. He also caught one pass for nine yards receiving.

Austin Mack was the leading receiver in this game with four receptions for 72 yards receiving. He played in place of Golden Tate II because he was left in Joe Judge’s dog house. Since dating back to last season, the Giants have won more games without him in the lineup with three than with him with two.

The defense also recorded two sacks in this game and Leonard Williams had another one. He has five sacks this season and may get paid in the offseason by either General Manager Dave Gettleman or a different general manager though.

This defense is the heart and soul of this football team. This was one of the worst units on this side of the ball last season has drastically improved.

The New York Giants always play hard for Joe Judge. They need to get more wins. Also, the tank for Trevor Lawrence out of the University of Clemson or Justin Fields out of Ohio State University is just outside noise for Joe Judge and this football team.

New York (2-7) will host the Philadelphia Eagles (3-4-1) next Sunday.

Washington (2-6) will be on the road against the Detroit Lions (3-6) next Sunday.
