Green Bay Packers: Is Davante Adams the Best Wide Receiver in the NFL?
A few years ago, Davante Adams was made of butterfingers for the Green Bay Packers. A lot of people were wondering if he was even going to be on the roster out of Fresno State. Adams had another big game for Green Bay in a 34-17 win on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
He and Aaron Rodgers made it look easy in this game. Davante Adams caught 10 passes for 173 yards receiving and a touchdown. He has caught 53 passes for 675 yards receiving and eight touchdowns so far this season.
Rodgers completed 25-of-31 passes for 305 yards four touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also rushed for seven yards on one carry.
This is one of the best quarterback wide receiver tandems in the NFL. Adams is currently fifth in receiving yards so far this season, but we will see how the rest of Week 9 plays out though.
DeAndre Hopkins of the Arizona Cardinals leads the league in receiving with 57 receptions for 704 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
He maybe the best wide receiver in the league right now.
Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons maybe the second best wide receiver in the league right now. He has caught 38 passes for 584 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Davante Adams is probably the third best wide receiver in the NFL right now though. Defenses know it’s coming because the Green Bay Packers only throw to him really.
He is the heartbeat of the Green Bay Packers wide receiver group and corp. Adams has come a long way’
The Green Bay Packers considered trading for wide receiver Will Fuller V at the trade deadline for the Houston Texans, but Green Bay refused to do so for some odd reason.
Valdes-Scantling also caught two passes for 53 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He caught a 52-yard and a 1-yard touchdown reception in the game though.
If they are going to win the Super Bowl this season, Aaron Rodgers is going to have to be spectacular and they are going to have to run the football effectively with Aaron Jones. He came back last night from a groin injury and rushed for 58 yards on 15 carries and caught five passes for 51 yards receiving.
Otherwise, Davante Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and also by far the best on his own team, but he isn’t number one in the NFL.
The Green Bay Packers (6-2) next game will be against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6) at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, next Sunday, November 15th.
The San Francisco 49ers (4-5) next game will be on the road against the New Orleans Saints (5-2) at the Mercedes-Benz Super Dome in New Orleans, Louisiana, next Sunday, November 15th.
