Cleveland Browns: Dak Prescott Should Be Open to Playing With Them
The Cleveland Browns may need to move on from Baker Mayfield shortly. Dak Prescott and the Browns would make a perfect couple for a few reasons.
Dak is recovering after going through surgery on his right ankle. The Dallas Cowboys QB dealt with a compound fracture that he suffered versus the New York Giants in Week 5.
It might be time for Dak to move on from Big D and start for a new team next season.
Yes, he wanted a big contract and he’ll have to work his way back from injury in order to get a big deal in the future.
Why should Dak Prescott join forces with the Browns?
Damage in Dallas
We’ve heard the horror stories about the Dallas Cowboys defense and who knows how they will fix that part of their team.
Now it appears as though players are irritated with coach Mike McCarthy and his staff.
On top of that, it looks like Dallas doesn’t want to give Dak a big contract like the one he wanted before the season started.
Apparently, there are whispers that the Cowboys could place the franchise tag on him again. However, it might be wise to ask for a trade if that happens.
Could you imagine if a healthy Dak Prescott played under the tag again and risked getting injured?
You know the old saying, “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”
The Browns have two running backs who can play at a high level in Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb.
Plus, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are some of the best receivers in the NFL today.
Since the Browns don’t have other options at QB it only makes sense to go after Prescott.
Who else could the Browns acquire? Sam Darnold could be on the move and I guess there’s a chance Atlanta gets rid of Matt Ryan in order to start a rebuild.
If Dak Prescott joined Cleveland he would play behind an offensive line that includes Jedrick Wills Jr., Joel Bitonio, and Jack Conklin.
The Browns have a better o-line than the Cowboys and it may be that way for years to come.
Take Them Over the Top
Right now, the AFC has just a few “Super Bowl” contenders and Cleveland could be one of them next season if Dak came aboard.
Dak wants to be appreciated and the Browns would certainly be happy to have him putting up big numbers.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski looks good overall in 2020, which could bring smiles to Dak.
I understand the AFC North is tough, but with a competent QB the Browns could rise up in the standings.
It also looks like the Browns would have the money to pay Dak an ideal contract.
