Houston Astros: Will they Complete the Comeback From Down 0-3?

The Houston Astros have been doubted a lot this since because of the whole cheating scandal incident. Houston appears not to be done in the ALCS however though. The Astros won Game 5 and 6 of the ALCS against the Tampa Bay Rays. Game 5 was won on a walk-off solo home run by Carlos Correa to give Houston a 4-3 win.

Correa hit the homer off of Nick Anderson. He is one of the better relievers on Tampa Bay though. Carlos Correa only hit five home runs during the regular season, but he has hit seven in the postseason though. They were down 0-3 in this series and this is only the second time a team forced a Game 6 in the ALCS being down 0-3 since the 2004 Boston Red Sox.

Boston was able to come back and win that series 4-3 against their arch-rivals and nemesis, in the New York Yankees. The Red Sox won the World Series in a clean sweep (four games) against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 2020 MLB Postseason has been very unpredictable and the difference is no travel in between games because there is a bubble though.

I think it would be very difficult for the Houston Astros to complete this comeback. I would find it very hard to believe that Blake Snell or Charlie Morton would blow it in either Game 6 or Game 7.

They have by far superior starting pitching than the Houston Astros do. Framber Valdez will be pitching for Houston in Game 6. Lance McCullers Jr. would get the ball for the Astros if a Game 7 is forced.

In Game 5, George Springer hit a leadoff home run for Houston off of John Curtiss. This is the first time in MLB Postseason history that a team hit a leadoff home run and a walk-off home run in the same game though.

This baseball team has nothing to lose and this team loves player for their first year manager in Dusty Baker Jr. He has been around for a very long time though.

George Springer is the heart and soul of this team. Although he still has a lot to prove throughout his career.

Springer is a pending free agent at the end of the season and we will see if he stays with the Houston Astros.

Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve have played in this series, but Altuve has been awful in the field and people think he has the yips though.

Yuri Gurriel Jr., Josh Reddick, Kyle Tucker, and Martin Maldonado are some of the other key players on this roster though.

The bullpen has been very good, but I think their luck is going to end in Game 6. Before the series began, I thought and predicted that the Tampa Bay Rays are going to win this series in six games and here we are though.

In the NLCS, the Atlanta Braves lead the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1, and the Tampa Bay Rays lead the Houston Astros in the ALCS 3-2.

I don’t see Kevin Cash‘s bunch in Randy Arozarena, Nathan Lowe, Kevin Kermaier, and Joey Wendle, blowing this series though.

The Tampa Bay Rays have been to the World Series once in franchise history and they lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 in five games.

This is only the second time in franchise history Tampa Bay is in the ALCS.

The Houston Astros are looking to reach the World Series in back-to-back seasons. They lost to the Washington Nationals in seven games last season, with all of the road teams winning those games in that series though.

Houston last won it all for the first time in franchise history in seven games against the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017.

This ALCS series is being played in Petco Park in San Diego, California. Game 7 of this series will be played on Saturday night at 8:30 P.M. Eastern on TBS.

The World Series would be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, which is home to the Texas Rangers. They would face either the Atlanta Braves or the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Do you think the Houston Astros can comeback from an 0-3 deficit against the Tampa Bay Rays and complete it in the ALCS for the improbable comeback or no? Leave a comment below.
