New York Jets: Why Hasn’t Adam Gase Been Fired Yet?

The New York Jets lost once again on Thursday night football against the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, by a final score of 37-28. There were so many committed penalties in this game and why hasn’t Adam Gase been fired yet?

The New York Jets committed over 11 penalties last night and it was for over at least 90 yards. Gase preaches no discipline with this football team at all. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is also one of the main problems of this football team. He has done dirty stuff with his defenses and this goes back to the bounty gates with the New Orleans Saints.

One of the reasons why Adam Gase has not been fired yet is because it will set Sam Darnold back. Well, Darnold has looked awful this season and he has not played well at all. Sam Darnold is being set up to fail by him, but ownership wants stability.

Ownership is the biggest problem with the New York Jets. There is a reason why Ryan Tannehill is progressing with the Tennessee Titans without Adam Gase. Those two people were together with the Miami Dolphins.

As for Darnold, he is the heart and soul of this football team. He almost got severely injured in this game last night.

Sam Darnold completed 23-of-42 passes for 230 yards. He also rushed for 84 yards on six carries and a touchdown.

Darnold busted a 46-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the game. He was a man on a mission in this game, but he didn’t do enough to win. Sam Darnold is having trouble reading defenses.

Goodbye Gase

Even though this is Adam Gase’s second season, the team will not be going anywhere with him. Players are complaining and this is one of the reasons why safety Jamal Adams wanted him out.

Darnold will never complain about his head coach because he is a good solider, but I wonder if he should force his way out of New York, back up Ben Roethlisberger for the 2021 season, and then be the starter in 2022 for Pittsburgh.

JuJu Smith-Schuster would love to have him because they were teammates in college at USC.

Darnold is currently in his third NFL season and is only 23 years old. He has a fifth-year option and if it is picked up, Sam Darnold won’t be a free agent until after the 2022 season. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Replacements for Gase

If Adam Gase were to get fired and he should, some of the potential candidates could be Gregg Williams to take as the interim head coach, Lincoln Riley of the University of Oklahoma, Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, Arthur Smith, the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator, Greg Roman, the offensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens, and Brian Daboll, the offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills.

Also, Joe Flacco had to come in the game for Darnold for a little bit as well though. Flacco completed 2-of-2 passes for 16 yards. He was injured because Sam Darnold was thrown to the ground in the first quarter and the New York Jets gave up six sacks in the game.

Their defense let third-string quarterback Brett Rypien play decently. He completed 19-of-31 passes for 242 yards two touchdowns and three interceptions. Rypien rushed for -5 yards on five carries.

He threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to Jerry Jeudy in the second quarter and a 7-yard touchdown pass to Tim Patrick in the third-quarter though.

Melvin Gordon II iced the game on a 43-yard touchdown run for Denver after a turnover-on-downs for the New York Jets. He finished the game with 107 yards rushing on 23 carries and two touchdowns.

Gordon II rushed for 107 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 11 yards on two carries.

Pierre Desir also had a 35-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter for the New York Jets though (27-25). Failed 2-point conversion.

The Denver Broncos (1-3) next game will be next Sunday on the road against the New England Patriots (2-1).

I think it is time for Adam Gase to be fired as the head coach of the New York Jets even though they went 7-9 last season though.
