Miami Dolphins: Ryan Fitzpatrick Still has Some Magic
The Miami Dolphins were 0-2 entering this game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Miami faced the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills the first two weeks. The Dolphins made those two losses pay off in a 31-13 win against Jacksonville and this enlarged part to Ryan Fitzpatrick‘s play though.
Fitzpatrick was solid and Miami scored on its first three possessions of the game. He threw two touchdown passes in the first half. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Preston Williams in the first quarter and a 15-yard touchdown pass to Mike Gesicki.
He also had a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. His teammates were celebrating with him in the end zone and Brian Flores’s bunch was having fun in this game though.
This is a very young football team and Head Coach Brian Flores has them playing hard every single game.
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 18-of-20 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 38 yards on seven carries and a touchdown. Fitzpatrick also caught one pass for zero yards receiving.
Fitzpatrick is the heartbeat of this football team. He is having a very good career.
It looks like and appears as if Tua Tagovailoa is going to have to wait his turn in order to be the starting quarterback. He was drafted fifth overall out of the University of Alabama though.
The other touchdown scored in this game for Miami was on a 1-yard touchdown run by Jordan Howard in the first quarter to go up 14-0.
Howard only had one rushing yard on three carries and a score.
Myles Gaskin was the leading rusher for the Miami Dolphins in this game with 66 yards rushing on 22 carries. He also caught five passes for 29 yards receiving.
DeVante Parker was Miami’s leading receiver with five receptions for 69 yards receiving.
Mike Gesicki’s 15-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was his only touchdown reception in the game.
This defense also plays very hard and also picked off Gardner Minshew II once and recorded a couple of sacks.
Jakeem Grant also rushed for 29 yards on one carry and also caught one pass for 19 yards receiving though.
Isaiah Ford also caught two passes for 14 yards receiving.
The Miami Dolphins will continue to be tough to play against though as the season progresses though.
Ryan Fitzpatrick also has been a journeyman throughout his career though. He is 37 years old and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
Maybe if the Miami Dolphins are out of playoff contention by the final month of the regular season, we could see Tua Tagovailoa play some games.
Had Miami lost last night, we could have seen Flores pull the plug on him, but for now, enjoy the Ryan Fitzpatrick show a.k.a the Fitzmagic show though.
