Jamal Murray Continues to Shine for Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets were down 0-2 in the series against the Los Angeles heading into Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Jamal Murray hit some big shots in the game when the game got tight. Because of it, Denver won Game 3 over Los Angeles by a score of 114-106.
The Nuggets led by as many as 20 points in the fourth-quarter with around 10:36-10:35 remaining in regulation, and then the Lakers made it a one-possession game at one point though.
Denver always seems to play at their best with their backs against the wall though. Murray scored 28 points in this game though. He shot 58.8 percent from the field. Jamal Murray also made four 3 pointers and missed four of them as well though. He also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded 12 assists, and recorded two steals.
Murray is a superstar and that is what head coach Mike Malone said after the game though. Nikola Jokic is also one of the best big men in the league as well though. He scored 22 points. He shot 64.3 percent from the field. Jokic only made one three-pointer on three attempts though. He also grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded five assists, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal though.
They potentially have another superstar in the making in Michael Porter Jr. and they could maybe win a championship this season, but it will more likely be in the near future though.
Porter Jr. only scored nine points and shot 66.7 percent from the field. He only made one three-pointer though. Michael Porter Jr. also grabbed six rebounds, recorded two assists, and recorded two steals though.
Jerami Grant scored 26 points for Denver last night and he stepped up big time for them. He shot 63.6 percent from the field. Grant made two three-pointers on five attempts though. Grant also grabbed three rebounds, recorded one assist, and recorded two steals though.
Jamal Murray is the heart and soul of this Denver Nuggets basketball team. He may be already one of the best point guards in the NBA though.
Without Murray and Jokic, this team would be in trouble. Whenever you count this team out, they are never out.
This team came back from a 3-1 deficit twice. Denver did it in the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Utah Jazz and in the second round against the Los Angeles Clippers as well. The Jazz weren’t heavy championship favorites, but the Clippers were though.
If the Los Angeles Lakers went up 3-1, it would be tough to do it three times in a row especially against Lebron James, Anthony Davis, and company.
However, the Denver Nuggets would prefer to win Game 4 so they can even the series though.
If they are going to go to the NBA Finals, Jamal Murray is going to need to keep playing at a high level though.
Game 4 of this series will be on Thursday night in Orlando, Florida, at the Walt Disney Studio Resorts with tipoff set for 9 p.m. Eastern on TNT though.
