New England Patriots: Peering Into the Seattle Seahawks Game
The Cam Newton era for the New England Patriots started off win a 21-11 win. He replaced the GOAT Tom Brady. Many still believe this team would fail this year. I am not saying they are going to win the Super Bowl after one week. This team is still good and could still win the AFC East. What Newton brings is his ability to use his legs. He showed that with two rushing touchdowns. The defense forced three interceptions all coming from Ryan Fitzpatrick. It also showed that Bill Belichick can make it work with any players. The schedule will get hard for the Patriots moving forward. It starts with the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks are a team that could be at the end of them heading to the Super Bowl in Tampa. This game will be the Sunday night game kicking off at 8 PM EST.
New England Patriots
To me, it was a good start to the season for the New England Patriots. They have been a dominant team for 20 years. New England has been to nine Super Bowls winning six of them. Coach Belichick is the GOAT and it showed this past week with the win against the Miami Dolphins. This was basically the same team that beat the Patriots in week 17 of last season. That lost kept the New England from a first-round bye which then resulted in a loss to the Tennessee Titans. This is also a rematch that happened in the Super Bowl. One of the most dramatic plays as Russell Wilson threw an interception to Malcolm Butler. It resulted in a Patriots win. I am looking forward to seeing the Patriots defense against Wilson on Sunday night. The Seahawks pose a bigger threat than the Dolphins did.
The Seahawks started their season off just like the Patriots with a win. They had a 28-12 lead going into the 4th quarter and allowed the Falcons to score 13 points. They got the win 38-25. Wilson had a great game going 31/35 for 322 yards and four touchdowns. He also had three carries for 29 yards. Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, and Chris Carson also had good games. If they repeat their performance this week it will be a long night for the Patriots. The Seahawks are a balanced attack offense they can run and pass. Look for them to keep New England defense on its toes.
Normally most teams going into Seattle would have to deal with the loudest stadium in the NFL. The Patriots will not have to worry about that as there will be no fans in attendance. Teams struggle to hear the calls all three facets of the ball. Once again Cam Newton will have to play as he did against the Dolphins. The New England defense will be tested with Russell Wilson and company. The weather will also play a factor in the wind and rain in Seattle. Yes, I know the Patriots play in the snow so they should be prepared but this time of the year that should not be a factor. The team that wins two of three sides of the ball will win this game. Buckle in strap down and get your popcorn ready for Sunday night.
