Joel Embiid Mock Trade to the Golden State Warriors
The Philadelphia 76ers are just beginning a potentially long offseason. Philadelphia already fired Head Coach Brett Brown. The 76ers now have to decide whether they want to trade Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, both of them, or neither of them.
That decision will be made up to General Manager Elton Brand, who is one of the well respected front office guys across the league and the NBA. Brand should have been fired as well, but he is still with Philadelphia for now though.
There is more speculation that Embiid will be traded rather than Simmons. However, Tyronn Lue and Billy Donovan are the two favorites to land the head coaching job with the Philadelphia 76ers.
However, Mark Jackson should get a look and an interview as well though.
After they decide what to do at head coach, maybe they should figure out the roster and maybe they should also draft better.
Some of the high picks they have had in recent years were Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Zhaire Smith, and Mikhail Bridges.
They could have had Jayson Tatum out of Duke University with the number one overall pick in 2017, but they decided to take Markelle Fultz from the University of Washington.
Fultz is with the Orlando Magic now and his career has been revived their though.
Whenever Embiid or Simmons is traded, this will be another top-five pick or first-round pick on the roster traded.
A potential trade with the Golden State Warriors could be: Joel Embiid for Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall, Marquese Chriss, and the number two overall pick.
This trade would work for both sides. Golden State is in win-now mode. Could you imagine a guy down low with his back turned to the basket playing with Steph Curry? Embiid could also play the pick-and-roll game and shoot the three though.
Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would still be their though.
Embiid is the heart and soul of the Philadelphia 76ers. He needs a new change of scenery though.
It will be interesting to see how a team with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Joel Embiid would work though. It would be injury-prone potentially, but they would have the potential to win it all though.
Steve Kerr would love to coach up Joel Embiid though. I am curious to see what would happen though.
This past season in 51 games played with the Philadelphia 76ers, Embiid averaged 23 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.8 BPG, and 0.8 SPG.
Joel Embiid was the third overall pick out of Kansas University in the 2014 NBA Draft and he is 26 years old though. This is one of the reasons why the Philadelphia 76ers would acquire the number two pick back from the Golden State Warriors though.
Some of the potential players that Philadelphia could select with the number two pick is Anthony Edwards, SG, Georgia, James Wiseman, C, Memphis, LaMelo Ball, PG, USA, Killian Hayes, PG, France, Deni Avdija, SF, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israel, Obi Toppin, SF/PF, Dayton, Onyeka Okongwu, PF/C, USC, and/or Tyrese Haliburton, PG, Iowa State.
Philly Could Get…
As for the players Philadelphia would receive in return, Andrew Wiggins averaged 21.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 3.7 APG, 1 BPG, and 0.8 SPG. He was with the Minnesota Timberwolves as well last season and the Golden State Warriors acquired him for D’Angelo Russell near the trade deadline though.
Wiggins is 25 years old. He was the number one overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. They shopped him to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love when Lebron James came back to Cleveland that summer though.
Jordan Poole is 21 years old. He was drafted 28th overall in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft out of the University of Michigan. Poole played in 57 games this past season for the Golden State Warriors. He averaged 8.8 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.2 BPG, and 0.6 SPG. Jordan Poole is 21 years old though.
Chriss & Paschall
Marquese Chriss was the eighth overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Chriss played in 59 games this past season for the Golden State Warriors. He averaged nine points, seven rebounds, 1.5 APG, 0 BPG, and 0.5 SPG. Marquese Chriss is only 23 years old though.
Eric Paschall is 23 years old. He was drafted 41st overall in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft out of Villanova University. Paschall would be able to go back to the area where he played college basketball though and he would be familiar with playing some games at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, though.
Eric Paschall averaged 14 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.2 BPG, and 0.5 SPG, in 60 games played this past season though.
