WWE: How We Could Get a Seth Rollins/Adam Cole Match at WrestleMania 37

NXT is coming off a successful two-week Great American Bash. The show was capped off by Keith Lee making history. Not only was he able to dethrone the longest reigning champion in Adam Cole, but he also became a dual champion. This is the first time this has occurred in NXT. However, the WWE has done this plenty of times. The last time we saw a dual champion in the WWE was Becky Lynch when she held both the Raw and Smackdown Women’s titles after she won them at WrestleMania 35.

The storylines for what they do with both Keith Lee and Adam Cole are endless. However, there has been speculation that we could see Adam Cole heading to the main roster. The storylines are endless with Adam Cole. Do we see him go to either Raw or Smackdown as a singles star or does he go with his Undisputed Era mates? Pro Wrestling fans have been saying on social media that they think we will see Adam Cole with or without his Undisputed Era go after Seth Rollins and his faction.

To start this, you need to have Seth Rollins and his minions go on a run for a few weeks. You need to have them dominate in the victories. As they keep winning, you hear Seth keep saying how there’s no one more Undisputed than us. This goes on for a month or two. At Clash of Champions, we see Seth Rollins challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE title. They close out the show. As we are getting to the closing moments of the match, the lights go out, and when they come back on we all four members of Undisputed Era surround the ring.

The announcers could then say, “ Who are they here for?” If you recall, when Drew McIntyre won the NXT title at Takeover Brooklyn, we saw Adam Cole debut. However, they distract Rollins. This would allow McIntyre to continue his run. On the next episode of Raw, we open the show with a pissed off, He calls out Cole, Strong, Fish, and O’Reilly to get to the ring. We then see them appear on the titantron. Adam Cole is the one we hear doing most of the talking.

We hear him mention how they can call themselves the most Undisputed team in WWE. Cole can then say how the four of them ran NXT for their run that they had. Now it’s time for them to run the WWE. Then you can have Seth Rollins turn around and say, “If it wasn’t for me, you couldn’t have had the success.” At the October PPV, you can have Adam Cole take on Buddy Murphy. I wouldn’t have it be against Rollins because you want to have that be a special moment at a major PPV. As it seems that Cole is set to win his main roster PPV debut, Rollins comes in to cause a DQ. This leads to a pull-apart to close out the PPV.

We open up Raw with Seth Rollins going into Vince’s office. He figures since Cole is Triple H’s project, he won’t come down hard on him. Later on that night we get a rematch between Cole and Murphy. However, we get Theory causing a DQ. This leads Cole to challenge Rollins to a Survivor Series style match. We get The Undisputed Era vs. Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Buddy Murphy, and a person of their choosing.

However, at this match, we don’t see Rollins cross paths with Cole. They tease it several times, but nothing comes from it. At the December PPV, we see Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish take on Austin Theory and Buddy Murphy. There is a stipulation for this match barring Cole and Rollins from ringside. As we know, those never tend to work. Rollins comes out, but it’s to just watch.

They end the match in a double count-out. Finally, we get to the Royal Rumble. The WWE Champion is still Drew McIntyre. Rollins enters the Rumble at 27. We see him eliminate a few people. Cole is the longest one in the match although Rollins eliminates him. Cole is pissed off because he thought he would have been heading to his first WM with a shot at the WWE title. After Number 30 comes out, Cole pulls the same move that Kane did at Royal Rumble 2014 and takes Rollins out of the match.

On the next Raw, Cole opens the show saying, “ You took my opportunity, so I am taking yours.” He then challenges Rollins to a NO DQ match at WrestleMania 37. The only stipulation is no pinfalls, instead, you are declared the winner by submission or knockout. Similar to what they did for Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher a few weeks ago on NXT.

I am a firm believer you don’t need to throw someone from NXT into a major match when they get called up to the main roster. You need this new crowd to have some emotional investment into the wrestler. By going this route, you build Cole to be a main event superstar. Plus he gets the rub of working with someone like Rollins.
