New York Jets: Jamal Adams Requests a Trade

New York Jets star safety Jamal Adams has officially requested a trade from the New York Jets. Adams wants to be the highest-paid safety in the NFL, but New York isn’t going to pay him. Jamal Adams is obviously sick of the Jets’ front office and their act.

He has submitted a list of only seven teams he wants to be traded too. Those teams are the Baltimore Ravens, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans, the Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. All of those teams are ready to win now except for maybe Houston.

A few other teams to maybe potentially keep an eye on here is the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cleveland Browns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jamal Adams was the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of LSU. He will be a free agent after the 2021 season.

Adams is the heart and soul of this defense. The New York Jets would miss his presence.

If San Francisco, Kansas City, or Baltimore landed him, it could be very possible they could finish 19-0 in 2020 or close to it because those three teams are the best in the NFL right now.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there are rumors that one team looking into trading for Jamal Adams of the New York Jets believes he wants a contract that makes him among the highest-paid defensive players, which would well be over $20 million per year. The safety market is currently well below $15 million.

Adams played in 14 games last season. He had a 61-yard pick-six against Jarrett Stidham, a 25-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown against Daniel Jones, he also had seven pass deflections, he also forced two fumbles, he has recovered one of them, recorded 6.5 sacks, and recorded 75 tackles last season.

Jamal Adams is the best safety in the game depending on who you ask. In his career through 46 games, he has two interceptions, one touchdown, 25 pass deflections, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, one touchdown, 12 sacks, and 273 recorded tackles.

I am curious to see who lands Jamal Adams from the New York Jets if he doesn’t suit up for them week one. I am not 100 percent sure where he is going to land. However, I would bet a lot of money he ends up with the Dallas Cowboys.

The New York Jets are going to want several first-round picks for him. We will see which teams budge. New York can’t get a cheap return if they trade him. That would be a bad look for the front office. Adams is one of the most vocal players in the NFL. He will benefit from being traded away from the Big Apple in the long run. Adams is also 24 years old.
