The 2020 NFL Draft has come and gone. The Dallas Cowboys made a splash and made their offensive attack even more dangerous. CeeDee Lamb can now be added to the list of Dallas Cowboys’ first-round draft picks. With that, the Cowboys offense has become even more dangerous.
CeeDee Lamb Adds Speed And Great Hands
The Cowboys bring speed, great hands, and multiple threats with Mike McCarthy at the helm. Gone are the days of conservative play-calling under Jason Garrett. Jason Witten can also put himself among the fans of the Cowboys past. Instead, the Cowboys bring to the table Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb.
The running attack will see Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. And, at tight end, the Cowboys have Blake Jarwin, Dalton Schultz, and possibly Blake Bell. Cooper has hands like the Cowboys haven’t seen in a while. Gallup is showing his potential to have an even mix of speed. With thee two, someone will have to play doubled up. Add to that the ability for Pollard to play in “five wide” situations, defenses will be stretched pretty far should they attempt to play tight defense. Here’s just a sample of how CeeDee Lamb can assist the aforementioned players.
Lamb Adds “Big Play Ability”
One thing stood out most last year. If Cooper was preoccupied with defenders, the more reliable players were Cobb, Gallup, or even Elliott. Michael a Gallup, to Becky quite honest, stood out the most when Cobb or Cooper was covered. Lamb has the ability to be an equal threat with his speed and ability to get open.
The Cowboys also got a player that can play in the “wildcat” formation. As a member of the Oklahoma Sooners, Lamb also had to play a part in the running game. Expanding even further, he was used in the punt return game. If you want to see proof that the young man can hang with the best, here you go.
Pressure Taken Off Prescott
Take this any way you choose, but now we can say Prescott will not be feeling as much pressure. For whatever reason, there were times the Dallas Cowboys quarterback would have accuracy – maybe even confidence issues. Dallas made a coaching change, some personnel changes, and will probably make some changes in the playbook. With the addition of Lamb, it’s safe to say that things will change for Prescott.
True, the young player is not proven on the big league level, but if college is any indication, he will fit right in. Not only that, but he should also provide a fast, young, and hungry target for Prescott. With the versatility of each player on offense now, Dallas can fit the young man with any player opposite him and both players will benefit.
Dallas has a revamped team that is ready to take the field. With the new additions via draft and free agency – Dallas will have a very potent offense. Lamb will be a valuable part. In fact, it can be said that he might even fit in like Tavon Austin.
