Karl-Anthony Towns Speaks Out on the Coronavirus

Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best players in the NBA. He is one of the premier centers in the league as well. With sports on pause due to the coronavirus, Towns spoke on the coronavirus issue.

He mentioned in a video with tears in his eyes that his mom has been placed in a coma and that everyone should take this virus seriously.

It was so sad to see Towns deliver that emotional message. Karl-Anthony Towns is only 24 years old. His mom was also placed on a ventilator.

His dad also wasn’t feeling well, but he was in much better condition than his mom was. Towns’ mom’s fever would go down during the day and then it would spike up at night.

At this time, our prayers and thoughts are with Karl-Anthony Towns and his family. He isn’t obviously the only one affected during this global pandemic during this time.

There have also been a few NBA players that have also tested positive for the coronavirus like Kevin Durant, Rudy Gobert, Christian Wood, Donovan Mitchell, and Marcus Smart.

Towns isn’t the only player in the NBA that has told people to stay safe and home during this time. Durant has spoken out on it as well when he tested positive for COVID-19.

I hope everyone is taking this virus seriously and we are all in this together. The NBA suspended its season on Wednesday, March 11 and it happened to be two weeks ago from today’s date. It remains to be seen when the NBA season resumes, but it is more important to take care of our loved ones right now.

Karl-Anthony Towns was the number one overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He is currently averaging 26.5 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 4.4 APG, 1.2 BPG, and 0.9 SPG so far this season. Towns has appeared in 35 games so far this season.

His stats and whatever else is meaningless right now in a time like this. The situation with the unfathomable COVID-19 is crazy and we all need to stay safe and take care of our loved ones.

It will be interesting to see whether or not they will win the fight. We are praying at this time that they do, but the COVID-19 is taking away lives left, right, and center.

These are sad and challenging times we live in. We hope this all can go away right now, but unfortunately, that is not the case.

How will everyone respond to this? Will people finally listen or will they continue to mess around as the people did in Florida for the ones that went on spring break?

This is not fun for people to be spreading the virus and it is more important to be safe at this time with loved ones and the ones that you care about. If this crisis continues to spread, we will sadly be seeing more deaths and potentially more people getting infected.
