Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell tested positive for the coronavirus just last week. Mitchell was an All-Star in the NBA once again this season.
His teammate, center Rudy Gobert, also tested positive for the coronavirus as well. There have been reports that those two have had a relationship problem ever since the coronavirus.
Donovan Mitchell had an interview with Good Morning America on Monday. He mentioned that he is doing well and Mitchell also mentioned that he had no symptoms of the virus what so ever. He has also listened to his medical staff and doctors during this time that he still needs to isolate himself for now in this situation none the less.
Donovan Mitchell also mentioned that if the NBA Playoffs started tomorrow, he would “be ready to lace them up.” So the question is, is the coronavirus an example of media hysteria?
The answer has to be mostly yes. I understand this virus is a very serious situation at this time. It could be a matter of life and death.
However, the media has done everything in its power to do a lot of things and create a ton of false narratives. The media didn’t go this crazy with the swine flu and other diseases. There is no question that the media is driving this country south and I am not much into politics, but the national media has been a cancer.
Donovan Mitchell’s interview is further proof of why everything and anything is wrong with the media. This agenda that we need to panic in these times and we also need to do things in a hurry is utter chaos. Mitchell is the hero of the day today.
Without his words, we wouldn’t know if this was a media hysteria or not. Donovan Mitchell once again exposed the media and that this virus is a media hysteria. When people wake up and finally realize that this is media-driven, they won’t be surprised.
This is probably the case because it is an election year and had it not been an election year, we would still be normally today instead of living out of fear? The truth of the matter is we need to listen to the health officials and doctors.
Also, Mitchell knows his body better than us. This is another prime example of media hysteria. What the results of this virus are at the end of the day remains to be seen none the less.
But Donovan Mitchell exposed the media on this day. He has won a lot of people over today. As of right now, the Utah Jazz (41-23) is currently the number four seed in the Western Conference. They would face the Oklahoma City Thunder (40-24) in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
These two teams were actually supposed to play each other last Wednesday, but the game was canceled and then it led to the ultimate season suspension. We will see when it resumes none the less.
Mitchell is averaging 24.2 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 4.2 APG, 0.2 BPG, and 1 SPG so far this season, in 63 games.
