XFL Game Thread: NY Guardians vs LA Wildcats
We’re back at it with another live game thread of the XFL matchup between the 1-2 NY Guardians and the 1-2 LA Wildcats. Both of these teams have see their struggles this season. The Guardians started the season with a strong win over the Tampa Bay Vipers, but dropped the next 2 games in dismal fashion getting blanked by the DC Defenders 27-0 and the St. Louis Battlehawks 29-9. The Wildcats, on the other hand, had a rough start to their season dropping their first 2, 37-17 to the Houston Roughnecks and 25-18 to the Dallas Renegades, before getting their first win last week against the DC Defenders 39-9.
This week the Guardians look to right the ship returning home to Metlife stadium. The major noticeable fault with the Defenders is the Quarterback play. Matt McGloin and company need to do a better job getting the ball to their receivers and minimize the interception rate. The Guardians also need to do a better job limiting their penalties and keeping their heads.
Josh Johnson had a game last week completing 18-of-25 passing attempts for 278 yards and three touchdowns. can he replicate that this week against a vulnerable secondary?
Will the Guardians right the ship and even out their record at 2-2? or will Josh Johnson just throw all over them forcing the Guardians to play from behind and add additional pressure to a QB group that is desperate to find their groove this year.
