Boston Celtics Top Los Angeles Clippers in Double Overtime

In the first overtime, the Boston Celtics had a 127-124 lead over the Los Angeles Clippers with 23.6 seconds remaining. Lou Williams was fouled on a three-point shot and it was clear and obvious he got the shot off but the refs thought otherwise.

It would have been a made three-pointer plus a foul with a potential chance to win the game at the free-throw line. Instead, Los Angeles had to take the ball out on the side and Landry Shamet tied the game with 21 seconds remaining. The ball doesn’t lie I suppose.

Jayson Tatum missed the potential game-winning three-pointer with 1.8 seconds left, but the game would go to double overtime and Tatum would redeem himself. He would hit a couple of clutch shots in the double-overtime session but after a Montrezl Harrel dunk to cut the deficit to 134-132 with 1:52 remaining in double overtime, Gordon Hayward scored the final seven points for Boston as the Celtics took down the Clippers in double overtime by a score of 141-133 at the TD Bank Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Tatum led the Celtics with 39 points. He shot 60.9 percent from the field. Jayson Tatum also grabbed nine rebounds, recorded one assist, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal.

Enes Kanter scored eight points. He shot 50 percent from the field. Kanter also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded two assists, and blocked one shot.

Semi Ojeleye scored two points. He did not attempt a field goal, but Ojeleye scored both of his points on free throws. He also grabbed one rebound and recorded one assist.

Kawhi Leonard led the way once again for the Los Angeles Clippers with 28 points. He shot 37 percent from the field. Leonard also grabbed 11 rebounds, recorded four assists, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal. He shot 2-for-9 down the stretch, but I don’t think Head Coach Doc Rivers called his number enough late in the game.

Paul George got hurt in this game with a hamstring in the first half. He did not return. George finished with four points. He shot 28.6 percent from the field. Paul George also grabbed one rebound, recorded one assist, and blocked one shot.
