Philadelphia 76ers Top the Los Angeles Clippers

There was a ton of noise surrounding Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid before the game on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Embiid made some comments on his Instagram page towards Miami Heat forward/guard Jimmy Butler about being a villain. They were both teammates in Philadelphia last season.

During the game, he scored 26 points. Joel Embiid shot 47.1 percent from the field. He also grabbed nine rebounds, recorded two assists, and blocked one shot in a 110-103 victory over Los Angeles.

Embiid was booed during the pregame by the fans and he just let it fuel him.

Ben Simmons also played well alongside him. He also scored 26 points. Simmons shot 54.5 percent from the field. He also grabbed 12 rebounds, recorded 10 assists, and recorded one steal. This was another triple-double recorded by Ben Simmons and this is the sixth time that he and Joel Embiid have both scored 25 or more points in a game. They are 6-0 in those games when they do.

Josh Richardson was clutch in this game for the 76ers. He scored 17 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter. Richardson shot 53.3 percent from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds, recorded one assist, and blocked two shots.

Tobias Harris scored 17 points. He also shot 42.1 percent from the field. Harris also grabbed 12 rebounds and recorded five assists.

Their bench only scored 20 points. Al Horford scored nine points off the bench. He shot 75 percent from the field. Horford also grabbed six rebounds, recorded three assists, and blocked two shots.

Matisse Thybulle scored three points on one shot. He also grabbed four rebounds, recorded one assist, blocked one shot, and recorded one steal.

Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III both made their debut with Philadelphia after being traded from the Golden State Warriors. Burks scored two points. He shot 25 percent from the field. Alec Burks also recorded two assists. Robinson III scored six points. He shot 50 percent from the field. Glenn Robinson III also grabbed one rebound, recorded one assist, and blocked one shot.

To no surprise, Kawhi Leonard was the leading scorer in this game for the Clippers with 30 points. He shot 52.2 percent from the field. Leonard also grabbed four rebounds, recorded nine assists, blocked two shots, and recorded one steal.

Lou Williams scored 13 points. He shot 33.3 percent from the field. Williams also grabbed two rebounds, recorded six assists, and recorded one steal.

Lou Williams had to start in place of Patrick Beverley because Beverley was injured.

Marcus Morris Sr. also scored 13 points. He shot 41.7 percent from the field. Morris Sr. also grabbed five rebounds, recorded one assist, and blocked one shot. He got into a tangle late in the game with Joel Embiid and they were both called for a double technical.

Paul George struggled all night long. He only scored 11 points. George shot 20 percent from the field. He did grab 12 rebounds, record five assists, and block one shot.

Ivica Zubac scored seven points. He made all three of his shots. Zubac also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded two assists, and blocked two shots.

Their bench scored 29 points. Landry Shamet scored 19 of them. He also shot 63.6 percent from the field. Shamet also grabbed one rebound.

Montrezl Harrell scored 10 points. He shot 50 percent from the field. Harrell also grabbed six rebounds and recorded one assist.

The Los Angeles Clippers’ biggest lead in this game was three points.

The Philadelphia 76ers’ biggest lead in this game was 12 points.

Philadelphia is 25-2 at home so far this season and they are currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Milwaukee Bucks (46-7) are currently in first, the Toronto Raptors (40-14) are currently in second, the Boston Celtics are currently third, the Miami Heat (35-18) are currently fourth, and the Indiana Pacers (31-23) are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Los Angeles is currently the third seed in the Western Conference. Their next-door partner, the Los Angeles Lakers (40-12), is currently the number one seed in the Western Conference.

The Denver Nuggets (38-16) are currently in second, the Utah Jazz (35-18) are currently in fourth, the Houston Rockets (34-20) are currently in fifth, the Oklahoma City Thunder (32-22) are currently in sixth, and the Dallas Mavericks (32-22) are currently in seventh in the Western Conference.

The Clippers and the 76ers will play each other one more time this season.

Los Angeles’s (37-17) next game will be on the road on Thursday night against the Boston Celtics (37-16).

Philadelphia’s (34-21) next game will be at home on Thursday, February 20 at home against the Brooklyn Nets (24-28). The Philadelphia 76ers will play their first six-out-of-nine games on the road after the All-Star Break.
