New England Patriots Win Slop Fest Over the Dallas Cowboys

The weather conditions at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts was downright horrendous throughout the game. However, with the Dallas Cowboys trailing 13-9 in the fourth quarter on the road against the New England Patriots, Dallas had a third-and-1 play at their own 35-yard line. They were called for a “tripping” penalty. It would have been a completion by Dak Prescott to Ezekiel Elliott for three yards and a first down, but the play did not count.

It put the Cowboys in a bad position. They had a fourth-and-11 from their own 25-yard line. Amari Cooper would have caught a pass for 20 yards receiving with 1:50 remaining in regulation, but the play was overturned on replay because the ball bounced on the ground. Because of it, New England was able to escape a 13-9 win over Dallas.

Cooper was held to zero catches in this game. This secondary did a tremendous job taking him out of the game.
