Florida Gators: Look Ahead to the Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
Well for most SEC fans this Saturday marks a big game. The largest outdoor cocktail party is happening hopefully it is still politically correct to call it that. If you don’t know what that game is it is between the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs. This game takes place in Jacksonville, Florida, not in Gainesville or Athens. They will be playing there until 2023. Of course, both teams are trying to have the games in their respective cities. Many say it because of recruiting issues. For Gators and Bulldogs fans this is the game they mark on their calendar every year. This year it will decide who represents the East side of the SEC in Championship game. Next week we might get the West reprehensive when the LSU Tigers play the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs are coming into this game with winning the last two years.
The Bulldogs come in with a 6-1 record. Their only loss came just two weeks ago in overtime to the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Bulldogs shut out the Kentucky Wildcats last week but no points were scored until the third quarter. At present, the Bulldogs are 3-1 inside the SEC. They have not allowed more than 20 points to any of their opponents this year. This game starts a pretty tough four-game schedule for them. After the Gators game, they play the Missouri Tigers and Texas AM Aggies at home on 11/9 and 11/23 and one road game against the Auburn Tigers on 11/16. Many said when the season began they were the team to beat and they still might be. The Gators will test them. Many think the loss to the Gamecocks was a fluke. They also gave the Gators fits.
The Gators come into this game with a 7-1 record. Their only loss came against the number one team in the country the LSU Tigers. The Gators’ last win came against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Which had not been for some miss calls would have beat the Gators and Bulldogs two weeks in a row. The Gators have only allowed one opponent to score more than 27 points. The Gators will be getting back three key players that they didn’t have for the game against South Carolina. Jabari Zuniga, Jon Greenard, and Kadarius Toney will all be back. The bye week for the Gators came at the right time. All three will play a big factor in this game. The Gators will have three remaining games after this one-two home games against the Vanderbilt Commodores and Florida State Seminoles. The only road game is against the Missouri Tigers.
This game will once again be important to the SEC and college football playoff. The winner should or will be the East side of the SEC Championship. Which the winner of that game will be one of the four playoff teams for a right at a National Championship. I am looking forward to a back and forth game and I always say the team that wants it more and makes the fewest mistakes will get the victory.
