USF Bulls: A Look Ahead to the UConn Huskies
The USF Bulls are trying to figure out what is going on. They are coming off another blow out lose at home. This time at the hands of the SMU Mustangs. The Mustangs won 48-21. The Mustangs came out and took it the Bulls right after their first possession. There were some drives that the Mustangs scored in under two minutes. Now head coach Charlie Strong said after the game that the whole team including the coaching staff needs to get better. The players are blaming themselves. Now USF travels to East Hartford, Connecticut. Last year the Bulls struggled against the Huskies on homecoming but came out with a win. This is another game and might be the final game that the Bulls have a chance to win. Let see how it goes this year against the Huskies.
The Bulls head on the road to play conference foe the UConn Huskies. They come in with a disappointing record of 1-3. The Bulls offense still hasn’t found itself. Both Jordan McCloud and Blake Barnett are hurt. McCloud has a wrist contusion and Barnett is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Head coach Charlie Strong said McCloud will be likely choice despite his wrist. He shined well against the South Carolina State Bulldogs the Bulls only win. Barnett came in the second half last week against the Mustangs and looked good but in garbage time. The Bulls put up 21 points but like I said the game was never close. The Huskies gave the Bulls a game last year at Raymond James Stadium. Offensive Coordinator Kerwin Bell said he will make some changes. The Bulls will have to be much better than last week against the Mustangs.
The Huskies come in with the same record as the Bulls at 1-3. The Huskies won their first game against Wagner. They are coming off last week blow out lose again the UCF Knights. The game was like the Bulls where they scored 21 points in garbage time. They also have a similar issue with the quarterback position. Steven Krajewski will be out six to eight weeks with a broken clavicle. Now they are back to square one starting Mike Beaudry. This might be one thing that the Bulls could excel. The game will be moved up till noon kickoff. It was scheduled for 7 pm but moved because of EEE a mosquito-borne virus. The school is scared the mosquitos will be worse at evening kickoff instead of at noon. The Huskies will have to also be better to beat the Bulls.
In the end, someone will come out of this game with their second win. Both teams have struggled and have many questions to answer. It will also depend on who offense shows up. Many people say that if the USF Bulls loss it could be the last game for head coach Charlie Strong. We will have to wait and see the result of that.
