Philadelphia Eagles Stand Tall Against the Green Bay Packers
With the game tied at 27 between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers early in the fourth quarter at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Jordan Howard scored on a 2-yard touchdown run for Philadelphia early in the fourth quarter.
Green Bay drove the down the field on its next drive. However, The Eagles stopped them fourth down. Jimmy Graham also dropped a sure touchdown on the drive. Then, on their next drive, Avonte Maddox was injured on the play for the Eagles and he had to be carted off the field.
With 28 seconds remaining on second-and-goal from Philadelphia’s 3-yard line, Aaron Rodgers pass was dropped by Marquez Valdes-Scantling and it was picked off Nigel Bradham and the Philadelphia Eagles were able to seal a 34-27 win.

On the Packers first drive, Jamaal Williams got hurt and he had to be carted off the field. Williams caught one pass for zero yards receiving.
On that same drive, Aaron Jones scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. Jones rushed for 21 yards on 13 carries and a score. He also caught six passes for 37 yards receiving.
After Green Bay went up 10-0 on a 30-yard field goal by Mason Crosby, the play that changed the game was a Miles Sanders 67-yard kickoff return to set Philadelphia. He provided a spark and Sanders rushed for 72 yards on 11 carries.
On that drive, Carson Wentz threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffrey. Jeffrey did not play in the last game with an injury. In fact, he caught three passes for 38 yards receiving and a touchdown.
With the Eagles trailing 13-7, Wentz threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert. He caught two passes for 16 yards receiving and a score. Goedert was very good in the blocking game as well. Fellow tight end Zach Ertz caught seven passes for 65 yards receiving.
After the Green Bay Packers fumbled, Jordan Howard scored on a 1-yard touchdown run for Philadelphia.
Aaron Rodgers threw a 19-yard touchdown pass before halftime to Geronimo Allison. Allison finished with three receptions for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown. He also rushed for seven yards on one carry.
The Philadelphia Eagles scored on their opening drive of the third quarter on a screen pass from Carson Wentz to Jordan Howard and Howard took it in for a 20-yard touchdown reception (missed 2-point conversion). He was wide open on the play. Jordan Howard finished with 87 yards rushing on 15 carries and two touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 28 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Wentz completed 16-of-27 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 13 yards on six carries. Philadelphia was able to rush the ball effectively and that is something this offense has been missing for quite some time.
Later in the third quarter, Aaron Rodgers threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham. Graham caught six passes for 61 yards receiving and a touchdown. Davante Adams was the leading receiver with 10 receptions for 180 yards receiving. He suffered a toe injury late in the game and Adams did not return.
Rodgers completed 34-of-53 passes for 422 yards two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 46 yards on five carries. It is a major problem for Green Bay when their quarterback is their leading rusher.
This was a big win for the Philadelphia Eagles. Especially since they are still banged up and Philadelphia did not have wide receiver, DeSean Jackson.
The Eagles (2-2) will host the New York Jets (0-3) next Sunday. The Packers (3-1) will be on the road against the Dallas Cowboys (3-0) next Sunday.
