Florida Gators: A Look Ahead to the Tennessee Volunteers

College football now heads into week 4 of the season. We are now seeing the elite teams, the middle of the pack teams and the ones that are wondering what the hell is going on. This is what makes college football such an enjoyment to watch you never know who is going to win. On any given Saturday a team that isn’t supposed to win pulls out a win. One of those teams that are on the fence as an elite and middle of the pack team is the Florida Gators. The Gators are currently 3-0. Two of those wins have been close games that would be against the Miami Hurricanes and Kentucky Wildcats. Sandwiched in between the Gators shutout the UT Martin Skyhawks. Now they return home to host an SEC East division rival. The Tennessee Volunteers come to Gainesville. Here is a preview of their game this Saturday.

Tennessee Volunteers

The Volunteers come in with 1-2 record. They got their first win last week against Chattanooga Mocs. They shut them out. Now the two games before the win over the Mocs was a disaster. The Volunteers opened the season at home against Georgia State Panthers. They were only trailing by one point going into the final quarter. That is when the wheels came off they allowed the Panthers to score 17 4th quarter points. The Volunteers only scored 10 and lost by eight points. Now the shocker in all of this Georgia State is a non-FSC school. The following week they would fall again to the BYU Cougars. Many of their fans where left stumped what the hell was going on. Now they travel to play the Gators. This will be a hard battle for them. Volunteers will have to be near perfect.

Florida Gators

The Gators come into this game at 3-0. That comes with a huge loss at quarterback. Feleipe Franks went down last week with a leg injury. Franks will be out for the rest of the season. Now the Kyle Trask era has begun. Trask came into the game against the Wildcats and was able to orchestrate a game-winning drive. The Gators had a tough opening game against in-state rival the Miami Hurricanes. If it wasn’t for the turnovers and penalties the Gators may lose that game. They recovered and hosted the UT Martin Skyhawks and showed the Gators team that we love. The question on many is how will they do now that Franks is hurt? In my opinion, they will be fine some games would have been close even with Franks as the quarterback. This week should be no problem for them to win.

This game, in particular, is one that as a Gators fan I look forward to next to the LSU and Georgia game. On paper, the Gators should dominate the Volunteers. But remember what I said earlier you just never know. This will be a classic SEC battle that both fanbases are excited for. Let just sit back and watch to see who wins.
