NFL: Week Two Game by Game Predictions

The 2019 NFL Season is upon us. The staff at IroniqMedia is dedicated to bringing you the utmost coverage of the NFL every season. This year we are going to bring you a new weekly picks feature. Staff members will pick the games each week and give you a reason behind their pick. Therefore, without further ado, here are the picks for week two.

Anthony Fiuza – Staff Writer

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers: Jameis Winston looks off and hurts Tampa’s chances of winning, enough said.

Carolina wins it.

Jacksonville Jags at Houston Texans: Houston will be hard to beat with the home crowd roaring in the background and Gardner Minshew isn’t enough with the limited number of weapons the Jags have.

I’ll roll with Houston.

San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals: Once again the Niners are out east, but Cincy looks pretty good. Zac Taylor understands what San Fran brings to the table after spending time with the Rams last year.

Give me Cincy

Buffalo Bills at New York Giants: The G-Men may put up a good fight, but the Bills are ready to beat another NFL New York team.

I’ll go with Buffalo and that aggressive defense.

Los Angeles Chargers at Detroit Lions: LA could lose this game, but Matt Patricia and the Lions aren’t ready to win and that showed against Arizona last week. Bolts have too many weapons to account for including Austin Ekeler.

I’ll pick LA in this game.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins: With Jordan Reed trying to overcome a concussion Case Keenum will need to be superman vs an excellent Dallas ‘D’. You thought Derrius Guice had it tough last week, it won’t get better in Week 2.

Cowboys win

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers: The Pack looks much improved, but Minnie should be okay in the trenches in this matchup.

Give me the Vikings.

Arizona Cardinals at Baltimore Ravens: Baltimore gets another cupcake game with Kyler Murray coming to town. Expect another blowout. It could be entertaining with Terrell Suggs coming back to the Charm City.

Ravens wins this easily.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins: Brian Flores has a mess on his hands and who knows when this team will ever win a game this year. Pats are too good.

Pats win this game.

Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers: Big Ben and the Steelers should rebound at home, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Russell Wilson spoiled the home opener.

Pitt gets their first W of the season.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans: Titans look like a thorn based on coaching and defense. Jacoby Brissett and Indy might have to wait another week for their first 2019 NFL win..

Titans win

Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders: Patrick Mahomes, LeSean McCoy, and the Chiefs’ offense are just too much for Oakland. Raiders’ QB Derek Carr won’t be as good in Week 2.

KC with the win!

New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Rams: I know revenge is on the minds of New Orleans, but the Rams should be okay against the Saints ‘D’.

I’ll take the Rams in the NFC title game rematch.

Chicago Bears at Denver Broncos: I don’t trust Chicago QB Mitch Trubisky or Denver QB Joe Flacco. However, I like Khalil Mack, Leonard Floyd, and Da Bears defense vs the Broncos o-line.

Give me Chicago

Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons: I don’t like how the Falcons laid an egg to begin the season and now Philly — who is a super team — comes to the A-T-L. For some reason, Atlanta struggles to score with all the weapons they have.

I’ll go with Philly to once again beat the Falcons.

Cleveland Browns at New York Jets: Browns need this game and they have shown they can score and move the sticks — and that’s with a bad o-line.

Browns get a big Monday night win

Thursday night:

Bucs at Panthers

One of these teams will drop to 0-2 this season. The Panthers should win this game behind their home crowd.

Cardinals at Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens play their first home game of the season after destroying Miami last week. Look for them to continue their success with another victory.

Cowboys v Redskins

If Washington can contain Elliott, then they should be able to redeem a week 1 loss against the Eagles.

Colts vs Titans

The Tennesse Titans looked impressive in Week 1. With the home crowd behind them in Week 2, look for the Titans to stay undefeated.

Seahawks vs Steelers

Pittsburgh should pick up its first win of the season. Good news Steelers fans, you don’t have to face Tom Brady again.

Bills vs Giants

The Bills face the other team that plays at MetLife Stadium in Week 2. This time around though the Giants win behind a strong performance by Saquon Barkley.

49ers vs Bengals

The Bengals fall to 0-2 as the 49ers win on the road. Look for San Francisco to score at least 25 points.

Packers vs Vikings

The Green Bay offense better show up in Week 2. If not, then the Vikings will rollover their divisional rival.

Jags vs Texans

With Nick Foles out, the Texans should win this game easily. Their offense was impressive in Week 1 despite losing on the road.

Pats vs Dolphins

Sorry, Dolphins fans. Your team will be 0-2 after another embarrassing loss. Tom Brady and the offense will be too strong for the Dolphins.

Chiefs vs Raiders

This is one of the most intriguing matches of the Week. Both offenses are strong, so this game should be a high-scoring affair. However, the Chiefs should win this match.

Saints vs Rams

The New Orleans Saints should improve to 2-0. Drew Brees showed why he’s one of the best last week and this week he should be up for the challenge again.

Bears vs Broncos

Without a decent offensive line performance, Denver has no chance. Khalil Mack and company win this game easily.

Sunday night:

Eagles at Falcons

If Week 1 games were any indication, the Eagles looked like the better team. However, Philadelphia can’t afford a slow start again or else they won’t come away with the road victory. Look for more Wentz to Jackson touchdown throws in the team’s victory.

Monday night:

Browns at Jets

The Browns came out flat in week 1. However, Cleveland should get past the Jets in the last NFL game of Week 2.

Buccaneers vs Panthers (Panthers win)

Tampa Bay looked absolutely dreadful at home against the 49ers. The Panthers didn’t play well either but still only lost a nail-biter to the Rams. Panthers should win handily.

49ers vs Bengals (49ers win)

Both teams had good performances on the road in week 1 however the Niners actually won. Although the Bengals are at home I predict San Francisco to keep the momentum rolling for a 2nd straight week.

Vikings vs Packers (Packers win)

The Packers put on a defensive display for the ages in their week 1 win and the Vikings offense was rolling in their matchup. Don’t expect the Packers D to lock down the Vikings like they did the Bears but with them being at home I give the nod to Green Bay

Bills vs Giants (Bills win)

The Bills are coming off a stunning comeback victory against the Jets in week 1. Now they travel back to MetLife Stadium to take on a Giants team that got embarrassed in Dallas. Buffalo should win by 2 scores.

Jaguars vs Texans (Texans win)

After a heartbreaking week 1 loss to the Saints the Texans will right the ship at home against a Jacksonville team who lost their starting quarterback Nick Foles. The Jaguars defense is also a concerning factor.

Chargers vs Lions (Chargers win)

Both of these teams went to overtime in their week 1 matchup and neither loss. However, the Chargers were the only ones that got a victory. Although the Lions are at home the Chargers will win behind the arm of Phillip Rivers.

Seahawks vs Steelers (Seahawks win)

The Steelers are coming off an embarrassing loss on Sunday Night Football at the hands of the Patriots. With Seattle’s defense looking true to form I predict the Steelers drop to 0-2 on the season.

Cowboys vs Redskins (Cowboys win)

Dallas looked like they were in midseason form last week albeit they faced a bad New York Giants team. They keep the ball rolling and improve to 2-0 with a win down in Maryland

Patriots vs Dolphins (Patriots win)

There really isn’t much to say. Patriots by a lot.

Cardinals vs Ravens (Ravens win)

A battle of the birds. Baltimore looked great in their week 1 win against the Dolphins. Meanwhile, the Cardinals struggled for 3 quarters against the Lions. Baltimore is just a more talented team in the league. Especially with better coaching so expect a convincing win.

Colts vs Titans (Titans win)

The Titans went into Cleveland and put a beat down on the new-look Browns. Even though the Colts looked good in their loss to the Chargers, Tennessee keeps on chugging and improves to 2-0.

Chiefs vs Raiders (Chiefs win)

Kansas City’s offense looks poised to dominate the league again after their win in Jacksonville. I expect them to win down in Oakland especially with the loss of Raiders rookie Jonathan Abrams

Saints vs Rams (Rams win)

The much-anticipated rematch of the NFL’s NFC Championship game a season ago. This one should be a barn burner with the Rams coming out on top with a late-game score.

Bears vs Broncos (Bears win)

The Bears offense isn’t as anemic as it showed during their Thursday Night matchup against the Packers. The Broncos, on the other hand, have a lot to figure out. Bears win.

Eagles vs Falcons (Falcons win)

A rematch of the 2017 NFC Divisional matchup the Falcons host the Eagles on Sunday Night Football. The Falcons will not only be looking for revenge but also to bounce back after a dismal performance in week 1 against the Vikings. I’ll take the dirty birds at home.

Browns vs Jets (Browns win)

Both teams are coming off of truly terrible 2nd half performances in home openers. This is a big game for both teams if they want to have any shot at making the playoffs this season. Cleveland will attack the Jets secondary mercilessly en route to a victory on Monday Night.

Sean Naylor – Editor in Chief

Buccaneers at Panthers

Christian McCaffery gets lose on a week Bucs def. The Panthers offense moves the ball. Their defense shuts down Jameis Winston. Panthers win.

Cardinals at Ravens

While the Cardinals looked good late in week one, the Ravens looked good all game. I believe that the trend continues. Ravens win.

Chargers at Lions

The Chargers offense had to go extra against the Colts in week one. However, so did the Lions against the Cardinals. Nonetheless, the Chargers are superior. Chargers win.

Colts at Titans

The Titans were impressive in a week one shellacking of the Browns. The Colts surprised too against the Chargers. Two surprise NFL teams with one of the best games of the week. Titans win.

49ers at Bengals

The Bengals almost upset the Seahawks up in Seattle. Meanwhile, the 49ers handled the Bucs. The 49ers keep pace with the Rams. 49ers win.

Jaguars at Texans

The Texans had a solid all-around game against the Saints. The Jags will be starting a QB making his first NFL start. I think this game gets away from the Jags. Texans win.

Cowboys at Redskins

Case Keenum has a weapon in Terry McLaurin. He hopes to get a second back with the return of Jordan Reed. If they can control the Dallas offense, the Redskins have a chance. Cowboys win.

Saints at Rams

NFC Championship rematch! Shootout in LA! Rams win.

Vikings at Packers

Packers defense is for real. They will force Cousins into mistakes. Aaron Rodgers gets on track. Packers win.

Seahawks at Steelers

Big Ben will rebound at home in a big way. Steelers shut down Russell Wilson and Co. Steelers win.

Bills at Giants

Josh Allen led a Bills comeback against the Jets. I believe he leads another victory over the Giants. Bills win.

Patriots at Dolphins

Not much to say here. ‘Phins are bad! Patriots win.

Chiefs at Raiders

Chiefs came away with a solid victory over the Jags. The Raiders did the same against the Broncos on Monday Night. Upset alert! Raiders win.

Bears at Broncos

Broncos defense rebounds. Although their offense stays on the ground. Low scoring affair. Broncos win.

Eagles at Falcons

Carson Wentz has a deep threat. He knows how to use him. However, I feel like this could be a shoot out as well. Upset number 2. Falcons win.

Browns at Jets

Jets gave up a big lead to the Buffalo Bills. Browns are mad and look to rebound. I think they do. Browns win.
