NFL: Melvin Gordon Five Possible Trade Destinations

It was just announced recently that RB Melvin Gordon of the Los Angeles Chargers wants a new contract, or to be traded. He is a vital weapon to the Chargers. Gordon helps Philip Rivers and the offense move. If he and the Chargers can’t reach a new deal he has demanded to be traded. There are many teams that could use his services for the 2019-20 season. Here are five possible trade destinations.

1. Baltimore Ravens

This would be a great team to join. The Ravens had one of the best running attacks last year. They also added Mark Ingram Jr. over the offseason. If the Ravens can trade for Gordon they would have three great running options. They also have Lavar Jackson at quarterback. Look at AFC North if Gordon is traded the Ravens.

2. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts had a great season from former USF Bulls running back Marlon Mack. Mack had 9 touchdowns along with 908 yards. The one issue with Mack is his health. If the Colts trade for Gordon they would have a two-headed beast in the backfield. The Colts would help themselves be a threat in the AFC South.

3. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles signed former Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard. The problem that Howard has had is his inconsistency. The Eagles have been hit hard by injuries in the past two seasons. Gordon would provide depth for the Eagles when it comes to the running back position. This will help the Eagles in the NFC East.

4. Kansas City Chiefs

The one thing on offense that the Chiefs lack is a decent running back. The currently have Damien Williams and Carlos Hyde as their one-two combo. Now we all know the Chiefs are a pass first team with reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes at the helm. If the Chiefs add Gordon it would be yet another pass option for Mahomes. The Chiefs will look to get back to the AFC Championship and possibly the Super Bowl this year.

5. Green Bay Packers

The Packers had Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams last year. Many Packer fans said they didn’t help quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They have never had to have a running game because of Rodgers’ talent. Now if they add Gordon this would help take some of the load off of Rodgers. With the combination of Rodgers and Gordon, it would one of the best offenses in the NFL.
