NFL: Three Way to Early Sleepers for the 2019 Season
OTA’s have begun, which is great because that means we are getting closer to the start of the season. Of course, all the teams will be chasing what the New England Patriots won in 2018. The NFL has what they call sleeper teams in it. How many are there is the question? The season will begin in about three months. Here is my way to early 3 sleeper teams for the 2019 NFL season.
The Browns must be a favorite in the AFC North. They picked up Odell Beckham Jr. via a trade from the New York Giants. The Browns took a big step last year finishing the season with a 7-8-1 record. They only won 1 game the previous two seasons. The Browns also added RB Kareem Hunt. They are good on defense with Myles Garrett. This team should be not only in thick of things in the AFC North but the league as well.
I know the Colts made it to the playoffs a year ago. They played the team that everyone thought was going to win the AFC and Super Bowl the Kansas City Chiefs. Andrew Luck came back from injury and look good. He still as T.Y. Hilton which is good. The Colts outside of the Texans should be the favorites in the AFC South. Head coach Frank Richt did well in his first year. Look for them to continue form what happened in 2018.
The Redskins got an early Christmas present. With their division rival the New York Giants taking QB Daniel Jones. Many thought they would take Dwayne Haskins, but he fell to the Redskins. They also drafted Montez Sweat who was one of the top three edge rushers. The Redskins will build off their 7-9 record in 2018. The Eagles and Cowboys are the teams the Redskins will have to go through.
